Meet Georgina 🥰, our blog writer.

Here is her story in her words:

I moved to Australia from the US in 2011, and I spent my first year travelling, staying in hostels and camping, and
then settled down for a bit in Cairns. In 2015, I started my online travel agency, which I closed in 2020
due to covid.

I spent 3 years travelling around from 2017 to 2020 without an actual residence and
have done and seen most of this beautiful country. One thing I have realised, though, is that the more you see, the more there is to see, and I am constantly adding to my bucket list.

I am an advanced certified
diver and have been on almost every boat to the great barrier reef. I have also done 14 Whitsunday
trips, 5 Fraser Island trips, multiple white water rafting adventures, 7 skydives, and 11 bungy jumps.

My motto has always been “be scared and do it anyway”. In 2020, I got pregnant and had my first child, and a year later, I had my 2nd one. Since my 2nd was 4 months old, we have been back on the road, just the three of us, and have almost done another full lap of Australia.

Now we are
housesitting to save money and experience areas in between our travels and when travelling
generally staying in cabins in Caravan parks due to their ages, but soon I am going to buy a king swag
and start to camp more. By the end of January, my kids will have been in every state and territory.

I will never stop travelling, and I love sharing my journey and helping others start out on the right path for theirs! Please feel free to ask any questions you have, as I would love to answer them!

We are a couple who love to travel.

We moved to Australia to study and work. In the beginning days of our journey in Australia, we travelled to many places like

We loved meeting fellow travel lovers in hostels like yhamelbounre and a few others.

Hearing several stories from backpackers about the lack of a platform for ridesharing/carpooling in Australia and a safe travel community for women backpackers led us to GRAB THAT RIDE.

Our professional work experience in software building and marketing helped us bring GRAB THAT RIDE to where it is today.

We built this platform to help backpackers find fellow travellers and share rides when travelling around Australia.
