Auroa Expeditions are holding two information sessions, and you can register with us to attend.

Lunch today, Hela Bojun - delish, fresh, local food stalls; it is a project initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture to empower rural women through entrepreneurship in the food sector. The Hala, or hall, provides a space for these women to cook and sell traditional Sri Lankan foods, made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Highly recommend!

A snippet of my day yesterday-
A walk through the fish markets, a drive through Negombo with a quick stop to taste some very fresh coconut 🥥 Then a hike up a LOT of stairs to visit Sigiriya 🪨 with the most Amazing views! Finished the day off with the best meal so far, Sri Lankan style bbq dinner. Egg hopper is now my new favourite food! 🤤

The next adventure took us on a truffle hunt with a local farmer and her dog Alba amongst the scenic hills of Alba. Lunch in Barolo with just a little sample of said truffles!

Siena! what a magnificent Gothic city bursting with fabulous architecture. After exploring this UNESCO World Heritage-listed town centre we made tracks for tonight’s idyllic accommodation: a country villa hotel set amidst the rolling Tuscan countryside.

After breakfast our route whisked us away to awe-inspiring Assisi, the birthplace of St Francis. After getting to know the famous hilltop town a little better we moved on to Perugia – the medieval capital of the Umbria region where we settled for the night in a quaint hotel. Pizza and wine was on the agenda this evening! 🍕 🍷

A quick walk through the new Doha airport to the lounge. Where I had a long awaited shower. I used the Al Maha Services this trip. Someone was waiting for me at the gate as I got off the plane and chauffeured me through security very quickly. Ask me how you can book this service.
