It's hard to believe that almost 10 years ago to the day, Prescribe Travel was officially launched at The Emporium Hotel - Brisbane. It was the first of the Prescribe Group of companies and I couldn't be prouder, nor more excited to be rebooting Prescribe Travel in it's stunning new location at Prescribe Headquarters - 19 Longland Street, Newstead.
For obvious reasons the past few years have been challenging in travel, but Prescribe Travel is looking forward to a 10th Anniversary relaunch in the coming weeks as the industry comes alive again. With an on-site barista, internal gardens and exclusive parking, it's time to dust off the passport and come and see us at Prescribe Travel to plan your next escape.

With all the "Do Not Travel" advisories at the moment, it's challenging to stay upbeat in the current situation, but one thing I know for sure, the travel industry WILL bounce back. Today I was meant to be boarding an Emirates flight to Nice where I was going to be joining some of my colleagues on a Leading Hotels of the World Famil centered around Monte-Carlo and SanRemo. So to brighten your day and mine, I thought I would share a snapshot of some of the beautiful hotels I would have been experiencing.

Always great catching up with Francois - Sales and Marketing Director of the beautiful Hotel Belles Rives: Antibes (whether it be in our office in Brisbane or in France). I had the pleasure of staying there a little over 12 months ago and have to say, it felt like I was staying in a private home rather than a hotel. It really does evoke the French Riviera's Golden Age with its Art Deco touches and charm. We thoroughly recommend staying a couple of nights when visiting the Côte d'Azur. It's hard to believe that a year has gone by so quickly and this time last year I was in the South of France preparing to attend ILTM - Cannes, the leading 'by invitation only' event for the global luxury travel community (pictured at the beautiful Hotel Belle Rives). Aircraft inspections never get old! :-) Just loved inspecting the Qantas 787 Dreamliner aircraft and Premium Lounges at Brisbane International Airport this afternoon. I can personally vouch that flying in this baby is "One Smooth Ride" after I flew Business Class to LA in August of this year. I sat in 10 K on the way over and 2K on the way back (window is always better for that extra privacy) and slept very well. I can see why some refer to Business Class as a 'mini First Class' as it is that comfortable.The 787s have a 1-2-1 layout with 42 seats in the business class cabin.
Today I was able to sit in all three classes: Business, Premium Economy and Economy and even got to take a look around the cockpit. The Dreamliner only seats 286 passengers, which Qantas points out is a less cramped configuration than many other airlines use for this aircraft, with a more typical Dreamliner 787-9 carrying more than 300 passengers.
ECONOMY: With only 166 Economy seats the cabin looks quite spacious (empty) and there are a few little extras such as an extra 2.45 centimetres of leg room compared to Qantas' other international economy space and a netting arrangement that hangs from beneath the seat in front, allowing you to cradle your feet. The seat reclines a respectable 15.24 cm.
Sitting in Premium Economy - the seats did feel extra roomy and that could be because Qantas boasts a seat 10 per cent wider and with a greater recline than the airline's existing premium economy product - premium economy cabin features 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout. The seat is based on a prototype by Thompson Aero Seating and has been customised by Australian industrial designer David Caon. Other design elements include an ergonomic headrest with custom pillow, two USB charging points and five separate storage compartments.
