The Gabba Stadium is set to become the main venue for the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane, Australia. The historic stadium, which has hosted cricket and AFL matches for over a century, will be rebuilt with a capacity of 50,000 spectators and a pedestrian plaza connecting it to a new railway station. The Gabba Stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the athletics events, for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The project is part of a $7 billion funding agreement between the Queensland and federal governments to upgrade and build new facilities for the Games. The Gabba Stadium will be a modern and accessible venue that will showcase Brisbane's vibrant culture and sporting passion to the world.

Are you excited for the 2032 Summer Olympics?

The Games of the ###V Olympiad will take place in Brisbane, Australia from July 23 to August 8, 2032. This will be the third time that Australia hosts the Summer Olympics, after Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000. 🇦🇺

Brisbane was selected as the winning bid by the International Olympic Committee on July 21, 2021, two days before the start of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Brisbane became the first host city to be chosen through the new bid process, which aims to make the Games more sustainable and affordable. 💯

The 2032 Olympics will feature 37 world-class venues, set against a backdrop of iconic beachfronts, breath-taking rural hinterland and exciting cities rich in culture and entertainment. Fans can expect unbeatable sports experiences in a variety of disciplines, from athletics to swimming to surfing. 🏊‍♂️🏄‍♀️🏃‍♀️
