One of the questions we get asked very frequently, during our whale watching trips, is 'Have you seen Migaloo this year?'
Migaloo ("whitefella" in some Aboriginal languages) was an all-white humpback whale that was first sighted on the 28 June 1991 on the Australian east coast near Byron Bay.
However Migaloo has not been seen for approx 3 years. The last time Migaloo was seen, it was reported that his white skin was badly discoloured and he looked very under-nourished. It is now thought that Migaloo is no longer with us πͺ

Good news has recently emerged out of Tonga where a new baby all-white humpback calf has been borne this year. A new borne white female calf has been regularly sighted swimming alonside her mother in the calm, clear blue waters of Vava'u, Tonga.
Video footage and photos are now being circulated around the world featuring the little cutie.
We are not sure whether this calf has yet been officially named.
