Celebrating Frog Month in the Ancient Rainforest! 🐸
This month, we’re shining a spotlight on one of the rainforest’s most fascinating residents—the Kuranda Tree Frog, Litoria myola. This little amphibian is a true icon of the Wet Tropics ecosystem and is only found here! 🌱💚
Let’s take a moment to appreciate as they play a vital role in rainforest ecosystems as both predators and prey, controlling insect populations, and acting as indicators of environmental health 🌍🌿 📸

💧Barron Falls has a tiered drop of around 260 metres and consists of four drops!
🌳The surrounding rainforest is teeming with biodiversity. You can find many unique plant and animal species, including the Southern Cassowary.
📸 Barron Falls are one of the most photographed natural landmarks in the region, with the varying light, mist, and seasonal changes offering unique opportunities for stunning photography.
🌿Barron Falls is known as Dindin to the Djabuganjdji Rainforest peoples, the traditional custodians of this ancient landscape.

Rangers Fun Fact Friday 🤠

At Red Peak / Guriguri Bunda: the Red Pittosporum, (Pittosporum rubiginosum) is fruiting, a small to medium-sized tree native to the rainforests of Queensland and New South Wales. After flowering the tree produces small, round, orange to red berries, which mature through autumn. These berries are an important food source for birds, cassowaries, white tailed rats and the very elusive musky rat kangaroos. 😊🌿
