Did you know that you can tell an Eclectus Parrot’s gender by its colours? 🦜🎨 Males are green with an orange beak while females don this beautiful red and blue with a black beak. They are also very vocal and masters of mimicry.

You can meet these little guys at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas where they can be found flying around the rainforest habitat, or around your morning tea in the Curlew Café.

Happy World Wildlife Day! This years theme is "Forest and Livelihoods", which highlights the role of forest and forest species. 🌳 The Wet Tropics World Heritage Rainforest is home to several endemic endangered species, including the Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo. Ruby the Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo lives at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas and was rescued from the Atherton Tablelands after been hit by a car.
