We had another guest from Ireland on the boat today ….wanting to bend some rods on the inshore wonkies ….and that we did ,…..a couple of solid Nannie’s some small mackies and busted up a few times by the taxman ….but still what a morning session it was ….we both had a blast and Gerard will be having nannygai on the table for tea tonight …..bring on tomorrow I reckon

Another awsome day on the inshore reef ,lots small Nannie’s ,small bar cheek trout ,grassy emporers stripeys, cods Moses perch we just didn’t stop turning a reel ,my guests from Melbourne had a ball and so did I …..can’t wait for tomorrow

Well what an absolute great day on the gbr it was today, my guests from Ireland had an absolute blast, caught lots of fish sone quality ,some bycatch but gee it was just endless action all day ,I bet they sleep well tonight ,

Nice day on the estuary today with a local family ,the little grunters and brims were absolutely chewing there heads off ,as we say it’s not all about catching monsters all the time ,it’s about putting smiles on people’s faces and that we did ….great morning session with 12 nice smiles put on the guests faces

Well let me tell you. ,it’s been so good to get back out to the reef again after what’s seemed like a lifetime, and did it turn it on ,I had a single guy on from Hervey Bay yesterday ,and did he catch fish .He bagged out on Nannie’s ,caught big bludger trevallies ,big cobia ,tea leaf trevally ,spangled emporer ,pink ear emporer ,goldspot cod by the heaps ,there was only one hick up ,….no pics ….lets say the bag where the camera sits was still sitting there where I put it to not forget it ……that’s another story ,anyway there is good side to this ,the guest was hopping on a plane today so I got some quality fish for my freezer which I needed , plus the dogs got a bit of bycatch ,so was a win win for me ,the only drama is you got to look at me holding up the fish for the pics ,all jokes aside thanks for the great day yesterday John I had a blast bring on the rest of the week

Had plenty of rod bending action for Paul today from a few small mackerels on the troll gear to some trevally to some long nose emporer ,cod chinaman and trout ,was great to be able to get back out to the reef again bring on tomorrow I say …..wonkies here we come

It was a bit tougher today up the estuary,with no tide ,however we still managed to turn a reel .a couple of big eels were in the mix too ,plus we got smoked again in one of my deep holes with a nice fish ,we got a few nice brim ,estuary cod ,grunters and a couple of jacks still had a blast

Had a great day on the estuary out of port today with some nice quality jacks caught ,lots of brim and big brim too also grunters were in good numbers too ,two nice families for some half day fun ,and boy did we have some fun …..with lots of rod bending action ,even got smoked by a nice fish that gets to swim another day yeeehahhhhh can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings

Well what can I say …..the pics say it all …..father and son duo on this fine Sunday morning for some epic jack rod bending action ,with the young bloke just edging out dad at the end to take out the champion angler award for todays session …..gee I love my job ….putting smiles on people’s faces catching fish, bring on tomorrow . Just another feel good story as well ….we had just got back to the ramp in port and disembarked my guests and I seen a young fellow fishing on the pontoon ,I had 2 live herrings left in the live well and I asked him if he would like to use them ,his eyes lit up and said politely yes I sure would ,well by the time I had reversed the trailer down to the waters edge there was a very excited young fellow fighting a fish ,and he had a lot of the guests standing and cheering him on from the tin shed as well …after a short period of time he had landed a 490mm jack that he claimed to be his pb ,how cool was this ….good on you young fellow …another fishing tragic in the making ….

Nice day on the calm water in port today keeping the guests from Sydney happy with some nice mangrove jack action and some little javelin and a big stingray ,and an unwanted catfish and a few bust ups to top it off .but hey it’s all about rod bending and having fun and that we did….

We braved it out there today in rainy conditions .i had a nice couple on board today wanting to experience some fishing in Australia ,well with the wild weather and 200mm of rain overnight the estuary was challenging to say the least .however about 1.5hrs after the tide change a nice 700mm Barra tail walked on the water with one of my champion lures in its mouth unfortunately after a couple big jumps and runs we jumped him off …..bummer ,then we went up the system to try for another one on the run in tide and bang ….a nice size ray that gave lars some rod bending action .also got up close and personal again with one of our resident crocs which kept our guests excited

Nice couple of calm water charters ,fishing was a bit tough up the estuary with the big tides but still managed to turn a reel and keep the smiles on our guests faces even got up close and personal to a little croc …..

Another lot of happy customers ,bent a rod all day ,smiled and laughed all day with some nice fish to take home as well …plus a heap of small trevally and small cobia to keep the rods bending ….the weather was glamour bring on tomorrow

Well how good was this ,I got a guy from the states booked me three months ago to go get him on a gt on a surface lure ,he said he studied the best way for him to catch a bucket list fish over the couple of weeks prior to booking me ,and reckoned he had a pretty good chance of catching that fish with me at cairns sportfishing .well it’s just so turned out he was dead right .we got him one today and you know from a guides point of view there is nothing more satisfying then catching your guest there target species ,sometimes it’s adds pressure when the days is getting on and your on cast number 500 and you changed lures every thirty throws and then out of the blue you yell 11 o’clock for your guest to throw one and the lure gets boofed ,maybe not the biggest gt we have seen but never the less a nice size for his first gt and to watch the smile it puts on there face it makes this job truely rewarding…bring on tomorrow

What a great day had by all ,we had 2 groups on today and the fishing in the estuary was electric at times the jacks were hungry ,even managed a few golden grunter got some cods ,big slimy old eel and a big catfish plenty of rod bending action .even managed to get up close and personal to a croc …the guests were stoked #

Wet wet wet ,did I mention how wet it was today and yesterday we got a few of these little fellas ….while we braved it out the front for a bit , with a couple of half day charters ,dropped a Perla of a cobia also ….would have been the biggest I had on the boat in a while , and dropped him right at the boat ,but still even though these were only little fellas and the weather a bit ordinary ,was good to see smiles all round

Well this was a nice surprise ,my new rods and 4 slammers ready for me to open and start fitting up ,and just before the season starts to get back into full swing too how good ….thank you penn and silstar ….I can’t wait to start bending them on some big jacks and some monster Nannie’s .stay tuned for sone epic pics
