Time for another blast from the past, this time one of my all time favourite Tree Kangaroo encounters.

Looking forward to getting back home so I can start photographing these amazing Wet Tropics endemics again.

Coming home with a Wet Sail.

In our last two days of our 21 day Ultimate Australia Tour we managed three amazing Echidna sightings including this.

After a succulent feed of ants this Kangaroo Island Echidna wandered across a log showing off beautifully for our guests.

Did you know is home to one of nature's most enchanting wonders? Behold the Pink Lake, a stunning spectacle that will leave you in awe! Located in Western Australia, this surreal lake gets its vibrant pink hue from a unique combination of algae and high salinity. As sunlight hits the water, it creates a breathtaking kaleidoscope of pink hues that seem almost otherworldly. Whether you're an avid photographer, a nature enthusiast, or simply seeking a magical experience, a visit to this natural wonder is an absolute must. Don't miss out on witnessing the beauty of Pink Lake in WA! πŸŒΊπŸ’¦

Eungella National Park, pronounced young-ga-la, stands as a testament to Queensland's rich ecological tapestry, boasting a staggering 860 plant species alongside a diverse array of wildlife. The continued prosperity of this biodiverse haven hinges on ongoing research and dedicated conservation endeavors.

Situated just an hour's drive west of Mackay, this national treasure harbors Australia's longest-standing subtropical rainforest. πŸƒ

Not much of our beautiful rainforest is left, and yet it is still being cleared.

Not much of our beautiful rainforest is left, and yet it is still being cleared.

Found Archie today in a patch of rainforest here in Kuranda that will be cleared next year for the Jumrum housing estate consisting of 83 blocks. A dodgy development approved a long time ago and was given 3 secret time-lapse extensions by the Mareeba Shire Council CEO that we didn't know about using an outdated planning scheme..

Yes rainforest is still being cleared in this day and age!

Most of this 45ha property will be cleared whilst last week I was engaged to photograph the revegetation of 3.1ha of rainforest costing $100,000 over three years to complete. It's so easy to clear rainforest and bloody expensive to rehabilitate.

Poor Archie will have less rainforest in Kuranda as the bulldozers move in soon...

Cyclone Jasper may have left its mark with rain, floods, and some destruction, but it also stirred up a beautiful community spirit. Sharing snapshots of the flood aftermath – a testament to our strength.
