This Ocean Month and beyond, we’re reminded of the incredible, life-sustaining biodiversity of our ocean. From coral reefs to the high seas, marine ecosystems are the foundation for much of the natural world. As the climate crisis intensifies, our ocean feels the brunt of the impacts, throwing these delicate systems off balance. The implications could upend life as we know it.
We are forever grateful to our seas for holding us in moments of need and providing endless inspiration. We can only hope to give a fraction of the same love and care back in return.

It’s short 10 min stroll down to the falls where there’s a viewing platform, or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you can climb right under them for a soak 💦🌈
Please be super careful climbing on the rocks as they were pretty slippery 🪨
If you’re in the area, be sure to also check out Millaa Millaa and Ellinjaa Falls that are also part of this famous waterfall circuit 💧

- Arrive at accommodation
- Check out the Esplanade & free Lagoon
- Visit Rusty’s markets (Friday - Sunday)
DAY 2
- Day trip to Fitzroy Island or Green Island
DAY 3
- Day trip to Atherton Tablelands
- Do the Waterfall circuit (Millaa Millaa Falls, Zillie Falls and Ellinjaa falls)
- If you have time visit Nandroya falls & Malanda falls
DAY 4
- Relax at Palm Cove
- Swim, walk along esplanade, visit @nunurestaurant �(If your short on time you can do this on day 5 on the way to Port Douglas)
DAY 5
- Port Douglas - Shops, Trinity Bay Lookout, 4 mile Beach
- Explore Daintree rainforest & Cape Tribulation
DAY 6
- Take the @skyrailcairns to Kuranda
- Check out the markets at Kuranda
- Take railway or skyrail on the way back down
DAY 7
- Behana Gorge Walk (6km return walk)
- Walsh’s Pyramid
- Babinda Boulders (short walk & Swim)
- Josephine Falls (swimming & rockslides)

The safest place to see a saltwater crocodile up close is at the @wildlifehabitat in Port Douglas, QLD
Make sure you’re there for the 11:45 Croc talk to see 2 monstrous saltwater crocodiles up close and personal.
It’s a weird feeling although you know you’re safe behind the barrier you can feel your body telling you stay away you are not safe. There size and power is formidable. Also out living dinosaurs and having so few other animals on the planet that have remained unchanged through millions of years is rare in the animal kingdom. A sign of near perfection in their design. Ability to swim at incredible speeds, yet so have the ability not to create a ripple when departing and coming to the surface of the water. Powerful jaws to snatch and heavy bodies to break, shred and drowned victims. Definitely a predator to admire and give lots and lots of room.
As a keystone predator there share a similar niche to that of sharks in the ocean primarily clearing out the slow, sick and dying, reducing populations of overly populated animals & fish species, keeping other wildlife on edge and moving constantly so as not to over eat or destroy sensitive mangrove, and river habitats that merge with the ocean.
A must see up close, but safe behind plexiglass!
