Scenic Eclipse II

We were very fortunate to have this stunning, ultra-luxury yacht in Cairns today and even more fortunate to be invited onboard.

This is absolutely one of the most luxurious and sophisticated small ships I’ve been lucky enough to inspect.

We were warmly welcomed onboard by the crew and even some of the guests. There’s such a relaxed, happy atmosphere onboard I don’t feel like anyone would feel out of place on this ship.

Reef House Palm Cove 🏝️ 🍹☀️

Never underestimate the power of a staycation… pure relaxation!

No airports or planes, no wasted travel days and a lovely reminder that we live in paradise.

My recent stay at the Reef House was amazing. The service is exceptional and the hotel has loads of charm and feels like home.

There’s plenty of activities included, my favorite was the cocktail making 🍸

The award winning restaurant is wonderful any time of the day but I particularly enjoyed breakfast with a view of the beach.

The last day of our Azamara cruise was spent in Barcelona.

Once again we’ve been able to basically step off the ship and into the city.

Another beautiful city that I could’ve spent a lot longer in, 2 days just isn’t enough time 🇪🇸 ❤️

Spent the last two days exploring the beautiful Spanish islands of Mahon and Palma de Mallorca 🇪🇸

A definite highlight for me was a swim at Playa de Illetas. I love our beaches at home but nothing beats swimming in the Mediterranean 💙

One of the best things about Azamara’s cruise itineraries is the late departures and overnight stays allowing you to really experience every port you visit.

Monte Carlo is the second stop on this cruise and to be able to spend two whole days here has been wonderful.

The view from the ship is magnificent and we’re parked alongside the most incredible super yachts, definitely a special feeling 💙 🇲🇨

The weather gods were smiling on us today for our trip to Apo Island 🏝

The highlight for me has to be snorkeling and seeing two green sea turtles!

Finished the day off with a visit to Atmosphere Resort & Spa, a beautiful beachfront resort situated along the coast of Dauin, would love to stay here one day 🤩

The Philippines!! 🇵🇭

This is my second trip since the travel ban lifted and my first time to the Philippines.

It’s taken a little longer to get to Manila than expected with a detour via Davao because of a typhoon and what should have been an 8.5 hour journey taking more than 24 hours. I’ve never been happier to see a hotel room than I was this morning and it was a great, although very short, stay at the Makati Diamond Residences.

Because of the delays we didn’t have much time to check out Manila but we did have time for a delicious Filipino lunch. If this is a sign of the food to come I’m going to have a very happy week here!!

Home sweet home!!

I’m not there yet, I am at the airport in Paris waiting for my flight and as much as it’s been an amazing holiday I am very ready to come home and see everyone I’ve been missing. I love holidays but I also love coming home 💕

Travel isn’t always what you see on Facebook… nobody wants to see or hear about the annoying stuff at airports and hotels so we don’t post about that but it’s safe to say that with 5 flights, 6 airports, overnights at 2 airport hotels and an airport workers strike just to get home from Turkey I’m fairly over the actual “travelling” part of travelling but it’s all worth it in the end 😊

Thank you to everybody that’s followed along my holiday with me. All the beautiful comments and reactions have definitely reminded me how much everyone loves holidays and it’s also kept me company along the way 🤩

So that’s it for the travel posts for the time being.

I’m a bit delayed with posts about Turkey, but better late than never hey 😂

My first full day in Turkey was spent sailing in crystal clear waters Kekova. An absolutely stunning part of the Lycian Trail that everyone must visit.

We hired a private boat and swam near the ancient sunken cities of Simena and Dolichiste.

Lunch at Kalekoy with it’s narrow paths, the smell of fresh herbs growing and being dried overlooked by a Byzantine castle was just brilliant. Absolutely ❤️ Turkey!!! 🇹🇷

So it’s time to say goodbye to Venice 🇮🇹 Here’s a few daylight pics and one of the actual crowd in St Mark’s Square although when this was taken it wasn’t as crowded as it eventually got in the middle of the day and afternoon.

I’ve also included some photos of my accommodation at the Royal San Marco Hotel for those who may be interested. It’s a traditional style hotel, comfortable and very well located just off St Mark’s Square. Great view out one of the widows and one of the heaviest keys I have ever had to carry around with me.. very old school Venice 😂

I booked a superior room and ended up with a one bedroom suite with a kitchenette that would normally sleep up to 5 people. How this happened I have no idea, it was so much space for one person but I’m not complaining, it was awesome to be able to spread out… I used the lounge as a closet and basically spread my whole suitcase all over the place ready to pack it all up again for a whole day of flying tomorrow 🤣

Anyway see ya later Venice and hello Turkey, I’m on my way very soon 🇹🇷 ❤️

This is my second visit to Venice but it’s by far the best.

Why? The food of course and no people. That’s right, no people!!! But I had to get up pretty early for that 🤩

It’s hard to imagine this city without masses of people but it’s a sight to be seen for sure, so get up early and take a walk to see Venice in all it’s glory with barely a tourist in site.

Now the food!! It’s no secret that I love food but how on earth did I not know about cicchetti??? What a delight, kind of a Venetian version of tapas and my idea of a bloody good time as you can bacaro (bar) hop eating delicious cicchetti and drinking wine all day!! It’s a perfect way to spend a day in Venice, you can start at breakfast like I did today although I had a coffee not wine with it and then carry on through lunch, dinner and any time in between.

Venice…. stunning city and amazing food 💚🤍❤️

So this is the last day of my cruise spent wandering around the cobblestone streets of Rovinj and swimming in the glorious ocean 🌊

Also last night’s special invitation to the Captain’s Table for dinner last night 💙

Sad to be leaving this beautiful ship but it’s not the end of my holiday, I have a couple of days in Venice to look forward to then Turkey I’m coming at ya 🤩

The gorgeous Dalmatian Island of Hvar with crystal clear water and hills covered with vineyards, olive groves, rosemary and lavender.

We visited Malo Grablji a small village founded in the 16th century and abandoned decades ago is slowly being taken over by Mother Nature, somewhat sad but beautiful at the same time.

Very interesting place to visit, would’ve loved to spend more time here 💙

The views from the Villa Rufolo are breathtaking, well worth the visit if you’re staying on the Amalfi Coast. I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to take a bad photo from here!! Having said that I did have some help with the pics from my amazing personal tour guide 😊
