If you haven't seen the line-up for this year's music festival, here's the flier I got from Butto himself! Good bloke, hard working, and ultra-dedicated to giving us good times in Paradise!

There's a little bit of something for everyone, I think! Head on over to the festival website and get your tickets!

Hey there, fellow Paradise Slummers! There have been enquiries about the Ross Wilson gig in Prossie this weekend. The party bus isn't up and running properly yet. Just a couple of issues with the 22 seater (paperwork and cosmetic).

However, some of you might be aware that I've started a second service...

Need a Ride Whitsundays

It's a rideshare, with booking and payments online. A bit like Uber, except the funds don't get sucked out of the community only to land in some off-shore tax haven.

The website is very functional, and it's getting better every day. You can make multiple bookings in advance and change the times/dates if your plans change.

You can also add in way points if you want to pick up mates along the way, and add instructions for the driver if you have a request or phone numbers for your mates.

You will also get a fixed quote when you put the details of your trip in the site, before you book the ride. That is all you will pay, and no more! If you ask to go back home to get your ID (for example) you will have a chance to tip the driver at the end. Tips go wholly to the driver!

Haaaaaapy Brizvegas Lions day party peeps! I hope your house party prep is on track for the bounce! If you or your mates need a Ride today or into the evening, I'll be on until about 2100ish Gary will hang around until about midnight and Kim will be there to pick you up out of the gutter after you get kicked out of Paddy's Shenanigans in the weeeeee!! hours🤣

We have noticed that the book of face has been playing funny with the Need a Ride website link and disabling location permissions. If you do visit the site via the link on the page, you'll probably need to allow locations manually in the settings.

I know. A real pita.

Happy Tuesday fellow Paradise Slummers!
As I hope you all know by now Airlie Beach Party Bus is no longer doing the UBER-style work around the place. It's all being done now by my other small start-up Need a Ride Whitsundays.

From Wednesday to Sunday, Need A Ride has at least two vehicles available and Friday to Sunday up to five cars can get you in and out of town!

And for all you stop outs, Kim will be around until 0500 Wednesday to Sunday!

A little PSA...

I have had some enquiries regarding the rodeo out at Bloomsbury. I will be available, driving for Need a Ride. You will need to register on the site and then book a ride. If you want me to pick up some friends on the way to fill up the 11 seats, you can include their place in the waypoints. The more, the cheaper per head!

You can use the calendar to book both your outward and return trips. Midge Point peeps, I'm looking at you!🙂

Hey, hey fellow Paradise Slummers!!! Happy Friiiiiiiiidaaaaaay! Are you all ready for race week? I am!

I have big news for you all! Need a Ride has released v2.0!!! It is virtually a complete rebuild with added features for the drivers and cheaper fares for you my beautiful friends!

We have four Toyota hiaces and a Kia Carnival available. I'll be doing my usual stuff during the day until about 2100, six days a week.

Gary will be in the recently repaired original party bus Thurs-Sun 1500 to 0000 or until it slows down.

Kim is on from about 2130 Wednesdays and 1700 Thursday to Sunday until 0500ish.

Michelle and Raven are driving from 1800 to about 0100 Friday and Saturday in 11 seaters.

I have a couple of screenshots with example fares...

If you feel like you need a bit extra income, I need drivers for my buses😎 You will need a clean driving record to get past my insurance company and the transport department police check for your Driver's Authority.

Happy Reef Festival you party animals! I hope you are all fighting fit and layered up for a Melbourne winter! I mean, wtf?

Anyway, I have good news and bad news. First the bad news...

This happened to the old bus last night...
Gary was heading out of town with pax on board and as he was going through the Banjos lights--Beach Rd stretch, it seems like someone has thrown something at the bus.

If you have any information about stupid people doing stupid s**t, please go to the police. The passengers were lucky not to be hurt.

Good news numero uno...

I now have five vehicles available on the Need a Ride platform!! They include my two buses (gonna patch up the window until I can get it replaced), two buses which Smally is running (Friday and Saturday nights at this stage) and Kim in her 6 seat Carnival.

Good news numero dos...

We are almost ready to publish the second version of the site. Improvements include cheaper fares, improved work flow for the driver/passenger (although the passenger will still need to go back into the site and choose a driver) and airport transfer availability. There is also a new drop menu if you have kiddos needing a baby/booster seat.

Have I got an update for you!

We have a new driver! Meet Gary, who will be available Thursday to Sunday from 1500 to 0000.

Hi I am Gary Smith from Melbourne where I have resided for the majority of my life, until moving to airlie beach early this year.
The plan being to relax in my latter years with my wife, enjoy the sun and experience the natural beauty of the Whitsundays.
I have many years travelling around Asia and a short stint living in the USA for work.
I have worked in steel, paper, chemical and retail industries for the majority of my life.
I enjoy playing golf, fishing and at some stage sailing.
I find myself looking for something to do in my spare time and what could be better than driving around the area picking up people whilst looking at the views.

If you are looking for a little entertainment tomorrow, one of my regular passengers has a suggestion!

The Smith Brothers will be putting on a joyful and jolly jam session playing amazing music from Ireland and Scotland with some modern songs thrown in. Saturday the 3rd June next to the sailing club and playground - no fear you will find these 2 Scottish Brothers easily by following the map or the belting tunes of the banjo and guitar brothers. A fundraiser will be taking place for the MND and Me Association please bring spare change or your phone as there will be a QR code to donate! Or just come and enjoy the music!

ANZAC Day is on Tuesday and I've decided to give those who are going to the Dawn Service a free ride to and from the cenotaph in Prossy and Airlie.

The duties will be split between Kim (night driver for Need a Ride) in Airlie Beach, and myself driving in Prossy.

If you would like a ride on Tuesday DM me here with all your details including phone number and which cenotaph you want to go to. Otherwise you can text me the details at 0484653767. RSVP is 1800hrs Sunday and messages will go out on Monday confirming. Timing is important and we need to sort out the pick-ups, so late requests might not be able to be accommodated.
