On three levels, the house sleeps eight in three double rooms and a twin. Set on 2 acres of leafy garden running down to Deep Creek and was built in the1860's . The bathroom , which is downstairs, has a deep claw-foot bath / overhead shower and a second toilet. Panel heaters supplement the wood fires and the beds all have electric blankets. Wood is provided for the first night over Winter, and for longer stays more can be purchased down the road. Relax and just enjoy the house, pan for gold in the creek, explore the main street with its heritage buildings or visit the grand Maryborough Railway Station where you can buy antiques and have lunch by a fire with a glass of regional wine. Carisbrook is half way between Bendigo and Ballarat which both have major tourist attractions. Maryborough is just down the road; the picturesque villages of Maldon, Clunes, Talbot and Newstead are 20 minutes away; Avoca, in the heart of the Pyrennees wine growing region, is 30 mins away (Mt Langhi Ghiran, Redbank, Blue Pyrenees, Mt Avoca,) and the stylish towns of Castlemaine, Daylesford and Hepburn Springs (with trendy cafes, antique shops and lush therapeutic spas) aren't much further.
