This coming Friday and Saturday I'm excited to be part of the Tasmanian Tourism Showcase , showing off Huon River Cruises to hundreds of people, potential partners and customers from all around Tasmania and interstate.

It's open to the public on Saturday this year, and it would be great to see you there exploring all the experiences to add to your bucket list(I know I will be).

A friend on a boat in Franklin Marina took this during the afternoon cruise yesterday and I had to share it.

The conditions were great, with nice calm water and moody reflections. There was also lots of activity on and around the river.

It's always good to see Michael out in his little blue boat.

The OFF Season campaign officially launched yesterday and the conditions on the river were very fitting.

The Egg Island Canal is Australia's oldest navigable canal and was dug to transport people and produce through from Franklin to Cradoc on the other side and vice-versa.

The canal you can see on the right was the original one dug by convicts and the one on the left was dug later on by a horse and metal scoop.

Traversing through on a dinghy, kayak or small vessel is like entering another world of calm and peace, surrounded by nature.

Esperance Adventures does Kayaking tours through the canal and around egg island if you are keen to experience it yourself. Otherwise you can look through from the Franklin entrance from LaDrone.

Even a moody overcast day on the water is a great experience.

Actually, I think sometimes it adds a different and unique element to the cruise that you just don't get on a clear sunny day.

Especially from our nice warm enclosed cabin.
