The whale season is definitely off to a flying start if this video from the weekend is anything to go by. These fishermen had the experience of a lifetime as some orcas swam just metres from their boat. Best of all, it was at Swansea just next door to Caves Beach.

A huge shout out .air who have gone above and beyond today to help us restore our air conditioning system after the storms that hit Caves Beach and the Newcastle area at Christmas time.

We are thrilled that our lovely new guests who are arriving soon will enjoy some air conditioned comfort during their stay, especially with this run of steamy weather.

As the warm weather sets in, we’ve found a new afternoon drink to tantalise the tastebuds when we stay over at The Palms at Caves. Best of all, we are supporting a local business as this delicious juniper gin is made in Newcastle by Earp Distilling Co. It’s peppery, earthy, citrusy and even has a hint of mint. It’s yum!

To make your stay at The Palms at Caves even more special, you could even combine it with a visit to this local distillery as they have guided tours and tastings, as well as blending and spirit schools. This would make a fabulous last minute Christmas gift for someone special.
