Thankful for the rain lately as evidence of the longer dry start to the year is pretty clear ! Lots of dieback and loss of saplings for many of the trees on the property... 🍂 (confirming these are not deciduous..)
I guess they can only hang on for so long😔🍂

We are asked so many questions about the history of our cherished Trestrail Cottage - it ignites curiosity everywhere you look.
Behind the the scenes Viv has been working on this beautiful book, now available for all guests to enjoy when you stay. It's a looking glass through Vivs eyes, into the legacy he's been creating since the late '80s and the winding adaptive journey that continues to evolve.
Trestrail is a soft landing, a homely hug and a reminder of all things slowwww...

And this is my workplace...? I'm up here at Trestrail Cottage 3-4 times a week to 'work.'
But really, I get to be in service to others, loving the space and perfectly content in this bush environment. Would not choose an office!!!!😄

The outdoor summer bed is a sleeping option from December through until end of April (weather dependent). You may like to sleep with the stars, wake with the birds, read and relax through the day or enjoy a romantic sunset.
The normal queen bed inside Trestrail Cottage is your comfortable back up. The choice is yours. 😍

It began with the sweet perfume of wisteria and very soon i found myself lost in time photographing so many blooming flowers all around Trestrail Cottage. Some native, some wildly wild, some lovingly adopted, some planted.
Wherever you are, stop and smell the flowers🌾

Viv Ziersch (house painter, shearer and artist) hand built this little stone abode named Trestrail Cottage in the late 1980s. Over 7 years in the making using entirely recycled resources generously donated to him by farmers throughout the mid north to boost his ambitions.
From the stone to the timber, the old galv guttering to the slate off cuts, the original clare red bricks to the bucket shower hanging outside. Everything has a story, has touched generations of people and found its way here - a collective history.
If only the walls could speak, what tales they would tell.! So much charm 💞
