Yes the news is true! The home now known as Kangarloo Retreat is up for sale
Although we thought with all the hard work done a family might step in to simply enjoy, it appears there is lots of interest in it being purchased as a holiday home 🏠
Bookings are still being taken and all future guests will be notified of any new owner changes as soon as the time comes ❤️

Kangarloo Retreat has been listed across numerous platforms but our listing with Airbnb has been our absolute favourite by far with its ease of use and 24 hour support along the way it is also where guests clearly choose to book over other companies with majority of our bookings booked through Airbnb 👌We highly recommend if your considering utilising a spare room, a granny flat or even turning your home into some extra income even part time on dates you choose to make it available turn it into a short term rental accommodation and join Airbnb here is our affiliation link for more details 🥰

2LT NEWS - SNOW ON THE FORECAST ABOVE 800 METRES THIS WEEKEND.

The BOM is forecasting snow on both Sunday and Monday. Sunday "possibly above 800 metres" and "possibly above 900 metres" on Monday.

If anyone needs directions to Kangarloo Retreat not on professional terms here’s my way.. Drive all the way up the mountains ignoring signs to the 3 sisters keep going.
Once the temperature suddenly drops to a point that you need to turn the heating up your at Meadlow bath. When it suddenly looks like your in the clouds or mist is just is rolling towards you your at black heath prepare to turn right at the Harley (st sign) pass the gorgeous old theatre (if there’s lots of cars parked there’s a good movie on and a real cup of tea at hand ) turn right again and take in the views of mountains until you have to turn left where you’ll end up passing plants for sale and a very unusual triangular dome look building. Keep going. When you see stream trains turn left, when you see a rusty old truck as an ornament turn left. When you see skippy the Kangaroo your home 🏡

You’ll find the Zig Zag Railway just outside Lithgow. While there is lots of parking available on site, there will also be a FREE regular bus shuttle from Lithgow running for the day – so save the hassle and jump on board!

📍Free Shuttle Bus Info:
Ditch the parking hassles and jump on a FREE shuttle bus !
▪️Free shuttle buses will run from Lithgow and Mount Victoria to Clarence Station and return throughout the day.
▪️Lithgow customers: Jump on board at Lithgow Railway Station or the bus stop at Rotary Park. Buses will leave for Clarence Station on the hour from 9am to 3pm.
▪️Buses will depart Clarence for Lithgow on the half-hour with the last bus leaving at 4.15pm.
▪️Mount Victoria, Bell, Dargan and Clarence customers: We have a treat for you – one of these heritage buses will be heading your way!
Stopping at Mt Victoria and Bell Railway Stations, the former Gallery H (Monkey Creek) carpark and around the Petra Ave/Kerma Cres loop before arriving at Clarence Station.

📍What’s a ‘taster ride’ you ask?

Good question!

To make it possible for as many people to ride with us on the day, Zig Zag Railway are offering shorter 45 min trips that give you a taste of the real thing, at a discounted rate.

It will be special though! The trip will feature two locomotives – the familiar steam engine on one end and a beautifully restored diesel engine on the other.

You will travel from Clarence to Top points station, alight for a short history talk before returning to Clarence to enjoy the day’s festivities.

📍Tickets for taster rides are $27.50 and can be booked online, or call in to the Seven Valleys Visitor Information Centre for assistance with booking your ticket ! 🎟
