Hidden among the mountains of Liguria lies a village known for the numerous witch trials to which some of the local women were subjected at the end of the 1500s.
Visiting Triora is a truly fascinating experience. Sandro explained to us that its reputation as the "village of witches" is rooted in solid historical foundations. We then visited the area where the witches lived, called the Cabotina. There, we met Giuliano, a sculptor who has lived in Triora all his life. He shared with us some stories from the local folklore of those mountains. For over 25 years, Giuliano has been creating figurines of elves, witches, gnomes, sorcerers, enchanters, herbalists, and fortune-tellers in his workshop.

We discovered that Antonietta is an herbalist and healer, with extraordinary knowledge of ancient healing methods. She is considered the last traditional healer still alive in Triora, and we are very happy to have had the chance to listen to her.
