This week we welcome South Rovers to the Timboon Rec Reserve in what should be a great day of footy and netball ahead of the phenomenal all you can eat Chinese night and Warraboon Goods and Services auction! Once again Chef Danny, Carmel, Fiona and Nutsy have gone all out for our Thursday night meals.

Ever wonder where your fare really goes?

When you book a rural taxi, you’re not just paying for a ride — you’re helping the government too.

From every trip, we collect and pay:
• 10% GST
• Taxi industry levies
• Fuel excise taxes
• WorkCover and insurance fees
• Commercial rego, permits & inspections

It adds up fast — and most of it leaves our community.
Meanwhile, there’s no public transport here, and taxis are often the only way for people to get around — especially our elderly and those without cars.

But here’s the kicker:
None of the tax we collect helps lower fares for rural passengers.

What if it did?
What if just a portion came back to subsidise rides, so locals could afford to get to the doctor, the shops, or just visit family?

We’re not asking for more handouts — just fair return for what we already give.

It’s time rural people got a fair go.
