Time: Shotgun Start for all players at 11am
Entry Fee: $10 includes Sausage Sizzle after round
Format: Individual Stableford off multi tees, and Juniors must have a GA handicap to play.

Contact Murray Downs Golf and Country Club to join the Tournament Volunteers for an unforgettable week.

⛳ A SHOUTOUT FOR VOLUNTEERS! ⛳

The Murray Downs Golf and Country Club will host the 2024 NSW OPEN Championship from the 11th to the 17th November.

This will be the 3rd richest golf event in the country and will be the lead into the Australian PGA and Australian Open tournaments. It will be broadcast on 7+ and provides an amazing opportunity for our club and the Swan Hill region.

We will provide more information over the coming months but for now we are CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS!

The Club will need approximately 80 volunteers to assist in the running of the event and there will be a range of different tasks and jobs where people will be able to assist. We hope to set it up so that all volunteers would do half day shift so they can watch some golf during the rest of the day if they wish. Of course, we will have a morning shift and an afternoon shift.

If you would like to volunteer to assist, please register your interest with our Executive Assistant, Amalie Taylor at [email protected]. We will then contact you in the lead up to the event (well in advance) to provide much more detail.

🏆 Congratulations to our 2024 Ladies Champions Of The Murray Winners 🏆

The Ladies title this year belongs to the hometown pairing of Shirley Hall and Jeanette Hicks of CluBarham Golf Club. Shirley and Jeanette are the first CluBarham members to claim a Champions of The Murray title in the thirteen year history of the tournament and it was made even more special winning on their home course and host for this year's event.

Runners Up Marcia Spiers and Nacole Horneman from Rich River Golf Club did everything they could to catch the winners and their round was highlighted with an “Ace" from Nacole on the Par 3 9th Hole ☝️, and again another first, we believe it's the first hole-in-one ever recorded in Champions of The Murray history!

🏆 Congratulations to our 2024 Mens Champions Of The Murray Winners 🏆

It was a very close fought and low scoring battle in the Men's competition. In the end Chris Rowlands and Gerald Healy (Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club) with a nett 63.5 claimed their first Champions Of The Murray title from Neville Brady and Anthony Manley (Murray Downs Golf & Country Club) who finished on 63.75 nett.

Relax on the 18th Green and be entertained by Melbourne party band “Back to the 70’s & 80’s” who have forged a career from recycling all that was good (& bad) from this time where leg warmers & spandex, fingerless gloves & big hair ruled the day. Their aim is to remind us all, while paying homage with a hint of parody that we’re still not too old to have a good time & to show the younger crowd that there is more to music than monotonous beats & fist pumping, in fact many of the hits that sit in the charts these days are heavily sampled reworkings of songs from the 70’s & 80’s! Try and keep up with their costume changes throughout the night as you dance the night away as they also count in the new year.

Reigning PGA Professional Champion and Murray Downs Golf and Country Club Head Professional, Matthew Docking tees off today in the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship 2023! Matt qualified for this years marquee event on the PGA calendar by winning the PGA Professionals Championship for the fourth time in October at the Heritage Golf & Country Club 🏆🏆🏆🏆!
