Our last day at Safety Beach Ocean Bungalows. 😊🙏
This was Larry's 3rd job and probably his favourite (although he did love rounding up the chooks during our market garden gig). Meet and great was definitely his talent. Nina and I loved looking after everything else.
We met some great people, worked in an amazing environment, and were proud to be associated with Safety Beach Ocean Bungalows, so thanks for that opportunity Kelvin and Colette.
Thanks to the guests who left overwhelmingly positive feedback, we really appreciated the support.

Just 400m from the Bungalows is Darkum Creek, which was looking spectacular this morning! Larry was having so much fun herding the fish we were starting to wonder whether we'd get him to come home.
Hope everyone has a top New Years Eve.and a the New Year brings you good fortune, in whatever guise it may present itself.

Well our busy season is well and truly upon us, and we were a bit worried Larry may have strained an eyelid as he opened it to check we were still working!😉
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and enjoyed the beautiful weather we had with it.( At least around the mid north coast)
Enjoy the holidays if you have them! Meanwhile, we'll keep cracking on with getting the Bungalows looking beautiful for our guests.

Hey everyone, just letting you know that Nina, Larry and I will be winding up our caretaking duties at the beautiful Safety Beach Ocean Bungalows early January.
We've really appreciated the experience of looking after the Bungalows and their guests this last year,or so, so thanks Kelvin and Colette for the opportunity.
We've also loved meeting all the doggos that have travelled with their families.
Anyway, for a few more weeks Nina, Larry and I will continue to do our absolute best to ensure that you have a great stay with us, and you'll have to put a up with heavily Larry laden posts for a little longer.

Welcome back to the Safety Beach Ocean Bungalows Woolgoolga, Best Food Guide!
This week we are focusing on establishments that offer lunch, or both lunch and dinner.
There's a fair few I'd like to mention so I'll sort them into cuisines, like,

Now we haven't been to all of them because budget doesn't allow, but I've mentioned some because of recommendations from others.

Like I said in my last post, we thought we'd put together a little 'Best Food Guide' to help our guests enjoy the foodie delights of our little village of Woolgoolga and surrounds.
So now it's time for the Safety Beach Ocean Bungalows Best Food Guide 🥁
( emoji looks like a cake but is supposed to represent a drum roll 😉)
For those of you, like my wife, who think I waffle on too much please feel free to go straight to the pics.😀
For the next few weeks we'll cover eateries that specialises in breakfast/ lunch, lunch/ dinner, dinner and dessert, but this week we'll start with the most important meal of the day - breakfast !
And because breakfast, especially on weekends and holidays, can become lunch when you sleep in too long, we'll focus on eateries that cater for all day breakfast and lunch.
Following, in the pics are my favourite establishments for a breakfast or lunch treat. It's by no means all Woolgoolga has to offer from a breakfast/ lunch perspective, but seeing the boss hasn't given me the credit card to try them all, I'll stick to my favourites.

Happy weekend everyone!
Ok, so I'm a little reluctant to admit the fact that I lost this year's footy tipping comp to my wife.🙄 What makes this worse is she has absolutely no interest in football......haha.
Well, the prize this year was an all expenses paid night out to the restaurant of the winner's choice, so it's off to Bella Ma' Italian restaurant in Woolgoolga to pay my debt.

Anyway, the point of my story is we have quite a few fantastic places to dine in, and around Woolgoolga , and I'd like to highlight a few of our favourite's over the coming weeks in The Safety Beach Ocean Bungalows Best Food Guide, with a view to help guide our guests to enjoy the best dinning our little village has to offer.
We'll try to feature a broad spectrum of eateries where you can have a casual breakfast, or a quick bite for lunch, or a bistro feast, or a special night out to pay off your own tipping comp loss.
We hope you'll be able to enjoy a few of the culinary delights Woopi has to offer while you're staying with us.

Well, here is the last instalment of the Safety Beach Ocean Bungalows Best Beaches Guide.
This week we're heading south from the Bungalows, stopping in at the beautiful Moonee Beach, and then onto the ' Big Smoke' of Coffs Harbour to a beach called North Wall Beach for a fun loop walk and a feed at the Fisherman's Co Op.

Firstly, Moonee Beach.
The things we love about Moonee Beach are:
▪︎ a beautiful reserve fronts a wide expanse of estuary with all manner of fish and bird life.
▪︎ great for kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, etc. Be careful of the currents here, especially during an out going tide.
▪︎ usually a coffee cart open for refreshments.
▪︎ top spot for soaking up the natural surroundings while relaxing or having a picnic.
▪︎ there's a dog wash at the Moonee Beach Hotel. The beer garden is also dog friendly 😊.
Please note, Moonee Beach welcomes dogs, but definitely on a lead here.
For me, that's the only blemish on spending a day here, as Larry loves to participate in everything we're into and tends to sook a bit if left out. Yes, he is most definitely spoilt. haha.

The other beach I'd like to highlight is North Wall Beach.
This is a top spot for you and your dog if you find yourself exploring around Coffs Harbour for the day.

What we love about North Wall Beach.
▪︎ it's off leash!
▪︎ you and your dog can swim in the creek or the beach, depending on preference. Larry definitely prefers a creek so he can round up the fish.
▪︎ plenty of space to spread out, even when busy.
▪︎ fun loop walk, starting just south of Coffs Creek, taking in the creek, beach, North Wall of the Harbour, back along the Marina, stopping in at the Fisherman's Co Op for lunch, then onwards along a pathway canopied by trees, back to the car park.

So there you have it! The Safety Beach Bungalows Best Beaches Guide has taken us from Red Rock in the north, to North Wall in the South, with plenty of gems in between.
We hope you get a chance to try a few of these beautiful beaches while you're staying with us.
I have left quite a few beauties out ( some on purpose 😉) but below is a link to some of them.

Just letting our guests know that if you are wishing to use the Ocean St entry for access to Safety Beach you'll be getting your feet wet as the creek is sitting quite high at the moment. Alternatively you can use the Safety Beach Drive entry for dry feet and dry doggo if you have one along (dry until they run into the ocean😁).

First through the driveway we have our two standard 2 bedroom cottages - Seascape is the blue one on the left, and then Mad Duck, the yellow cottage on the right. Then you will see our fantastic BBQ area, followed by Beach Hut, our studio cottage.
