BEST PIZZA!! PAUL'S CAFE, CROOKWELL!!

Lift the lid and the freshness fills your nostrils.
From the first irresistable bite, the home-made base is light and crispy - not too thin and not thick - and the pastry smacks of respect for the dough being lifted, rested and kneaded into a pizza base begging to be eaten.
More than GENEROUS fillings float atop the pizza base, and topped with enough cheese to compliment the layers of meats, tomato, pineapple, mushrooms and onion without drowning the measured mix of flavours so carefully crafted.
I ordered a small (8 slices) supreme that filled our two bellies perfectly and must say, it was, without exception the BEST PIZZA we have eaten in years!
Well done PAUL'S CAFE!

Being a farmer is a 24/7 job and I consider it a privilege. Feeding stock in all weather conditions, including rain, sleet or snow, is just part of the gig.

We had sleet followed by snow flurries, followed by some proper snow today. No wind. Just the stillness of flakes floating to the ground. It really feels like winter today!

Baby animals always raises a smile and especially when they are healthy, strong and a gift.
Olivia managed to deliver Taylor 'swiftly', without any assistance two days ago, and both mother and baby (cria) are doing well.
Alpaca Farm Visit ([email protected]) at Crookwell is open during this school holidays for an intimate alpaca experience to learn about these intelligent, gentle and beneficial animals, hand feed the free range herd and snap some memories of this unique and educational activity.

Wildlife is abundant in the Upper Lachlan and the mighty little Echidna is right at home in the Crookwell area where conditions are perfect for foraging, digging and looking out for a disco date!

We also have many wombats visiting or returning to this area to hook up with a mate, particularly between April to end of August each year.

Take care on the roads up this way and be aware of the quiet swagger from the vulnerable Echidna and avoid the bulldozer moves from the solid and powerful wombat.

This land was theirs, until we slapped concrete and tar roads down crossing their migration tracks that have been forged over many hundreds of years and if we wish to keep these amazing, unique and colourful characters around, don't mow them down, slow down and let them pass.

It's great to see our wonderful community pull together for the greater good.
Crookwell Hotel invited CROOKWELL LIONS CLUB to sell raffle tickets on Thursday and Friday nights to raise funds for a much needed Defibrillator that could be available 24/7 in the main street of Crookwell.
With smiles and the undeniable attraction of possibly winning a Hills Butchery meat tray or Crookwell Hotel voucher, volunteers from Crookwell Lions Club sold book after book of tickets to local and visiting customers to raise sufficient funds to purchase, mount and maintain a Defibrillator supplied by Rapid 1st Aid on the Goulburn Street wall of Crookwell Hotel.
The potential life saving unit was unveiled on Sunday 16th June by Deputy Mayor, Mandy McDonald and Crookwell Hotel Manager, Charlie Fenton surrounded by LIONS volunteers and representatives from the Kemp family who lost their loved one to heart attack at the local Post Office.

Did you know that the Upper Lachlan is the Capital for Jack Russell Terriers (JRT)?
Apparently we have more in our neck of the woods than elsewhere! Who would have thought it?
Well Crookwell Hotel Manager, Charlie, believes it to be true and to pay homage to these little pocket rockets, Crookwell Lager (4%) has adopted JRT as their product logo.
Apparently one can enjoy a Crookwell Lager and still wag one's tail, sit and shake hands without fear of being over the limit!
Well done Crookwell Hotel!
