In 1974, the iconic St Peters Lutheran College Ironbark program was first introduced. Set on a property in Crows Nest, Queensland, the introduction was as a trial program only. In 1976, Ironbark became a staple for St Peters students. It has continued on since then as a visionary, life-changing outdoor education program, held over a five week period. Currently, Ironbark is compulsory for students in Year 9. These students live and breathe country life, learning invaluable lessons about personal strength, team work, Christian values, outdoor survival skills, and how to run a farm.
