Getting our boats ready for the run off always gets everyone excited here in the Barnes household.

My PB Still Holds Strong – and I think this is the year to Break It!

15 years ago, out on the boat with 3 kids and Grandma, I landed this beauty—a 98cm barramundi!

It’s still my personal best, and honestly, I’m amazed it’s held the title for this long.

That day was chaotic, with kids and Grandma cheering me on, the boat was full of excitement. But somehow, amidst the mayhem, I hooked and landed this beast.

Moments like these stick with you forever.

This year, for the first time in what feels like forever, I actually have the time to get back out there and give it another crack. The rods are ready, the tides are calling, and I’m determined to set a new PB.

Let’s see if I can finally land the one that beats this legend! Wish me luck—counting down the days now until run off 🤞🤞

What a wild festive season it’s been—family, food, and the usual chaos that comes with it! But now I’m counting down the days until I can get back out on the water.

There’s nothing better than being out there, chasing big barra and sharing the experience with people who love fishing as much as I do. It’s what I live for.
