Charles is the Founder and Principal of the Firm. He is a fourth generation Australian Chinese who grew up in Darwin. Charles has been a Lawyer since 1978 and for the first 28 years of his legal practice in South Australia, Hong Kong and Northern Territory, he represented clients as both a barrister and solicitor in all kinds of legal matters including criminal, family, commercial and personal injuries. He practiced as a lawyer in Hong Kong for 16 years, and was the head of the litigation department of the last firm there. He returned to Darwin in 1998 to be a Senior Associate with the Darwin law firm of Ward Keller.
He obtained his Migration Agent license in 1999 and began developing that area of practice. On 1 August, 2002, he established Charles Yuen & Associates, the first migration law practice in the Top End. Since then Charles has represented hundreds of clients to help them with visa applications or to appeal adverse migration decisions in the various tribunals and Federal courts.
