🚤 Update on Tiwi Mantawi vessel 🚤
We are continuing to work closely with AMSA and the relevant authorities on a thorough investigation into the Tiwi Mantawi vessel incident.

🔹 All passengers were contacted on Saturday, and belongings left on the vessel have mostly been returned. For those who have already departed Darwin, we are organising shipment of their personal effects. 📦

🔹 In the coming days, we will be reaching out to passengers from Friday’s Tiwi Islands to Darwin ferry to arrange refunds for their journey. 💳

🔹 We’ve received positive feedback from many passengers, praising our crew’s professionalism during the incident. We are incredibly proud of how they managed the emergency, ensuring the health and safety of our passengers and crew remained our top priority. 👏

🔹 Our team is focused on sourcing a suitable alternative solution to continue providing the Tiwi Island ferry service for the community and visitors as soon as possible. 🌍

We will keep you updated via our website and socials with information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and support.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we responded to the emergency incident.

A full investigation is underway.

16/08/2024

We have encountered an unexpected mechanical issue on the Tiwi Mantawi vessel shortly after departure from the Tiwi Islands this afternoon.

In response, we have needed to dispatch the Mandorah ferry to safely transfer these passengers to Darwin. Regrettably, this has resulted in the need to cancel Mandorah ferry services for the remainder of the evening.

A replacement bus service was organised from Cullen Bay to Belyuen and Wagait Beach for passengers impacted by this disruption.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to customers on the Mandorah ferry service and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Please refer to our website www.sealink.com.au/darwin/ for the latest information.
