Successful installation for The Nobleman 🚢🌊

Recently, Veth Propulsion proudly contributed to Van Loon Cruises ‘s newest ship, The Nobleman, which is being built at TeamCo Shipyard.

For this ship Veth Propulsion have:
✅Two Veth Z drives (type VZ-900CR) supplied for optimal manoeuvrability.
✅A Veth Jet channel thruster (type K-1300 E) supplied for extra manoeuvrability.

Congratulations to Katsa on 70 years of excellence! 🎉

Katsa was established in October 1955 by two gentlemen, Mr. Salli and Mr. Kattelus.

The first Katsa factory in Lakalaiva, Tampere, began construction in 1966, at a time when the Lakalaiva area had only a few buildings.

Initially, Katsa operated as a subcontractor, primarily focusing on turning operations. By the time the new factory was built, Katsa was evolving into a gearwheel manufacturer.

In 1967, Katsa employed 35 people and had already amassed a substantial number of machines. The company was growing rapidly, and by the following year, it was clear that additional capacity—and thus more floor space—was needed.

Stay tuned as we share some memories from Katsa’s journey to becoming a modern power transmission company.

Maintenance of VZ-1800 Z Drives 💪

In 2025, Veth Propulsion commenced maintenance on two VZ-1800 Z-drives, also referred to as rudder propellers. These advanced marine propellers provide exceptional manoeuvrability by rotating a full 360°, removing the need for traditional rudders. A perfect example of cutting-edge technology at its best!
