Australian Open 🎾

We had some of the SH crew head down to Melbourne Friday to go to the Aus Open!

Making the absolute most of our out and about program, helping the crew develop their social skills, independence and building confidence using public transport all while having fun with friends.

Friday night social group!

Every fortnight the crew head to Kerang for a social night out, having dinner together, playing pool and just getting out and about in our local communities.
Not to jinx ourselves but there is rarely a Friday night the crew go home empty handed 🙊

Introducing ✨ HONEY ✨
Honey is a much loved new family pet for the O’Bree’s. Honey is learning to earn her keep by working Thursdays with the crew for the horse Education/ Riding/ Therapy programs.
She is young and still has a lot to learn but she’s already very loved by the Swan Hill crew.

Honey will be great for our guys that love horses but aren’t overly interested in riding. Or maybe someone who has mobility issues but wants to be able to handle and care for a horse without the danger of a larger/ stronger horse.

Couple of fun facts about Honey

✨Highly food motivated
✨Loves a pat
✨She is pretty much FULLY GROWN
✨Would trade me for a piece of liquorice
✨Basically a toddler in a pony’s body
✨Very Sassy

We’re super excited to see Honey grow into her role with Discoveries (As soon as she stops chewing on everything🤪)

A huge milestone for the Swan Hill Crew,
WINNING their category at the National disability awards for 2024. 🏆

Swan Hill Discoveries headed away to Adelaide this week for the National Disability Awards after securing a spot in the top 3 out of an astronomical amount of quality providers.

We are super proud of our crew, the business we have built and the achievements of those we have supported in the years we’ve operated.

A business built on the dream to turn limitations into opportunities and celebrating all abilities.

Jo saw a massive gap in the industry all those years ago and set off to build a business that provided a hands on approach, a fun and challenging environment and most of all engaging support from top tier workers who help dreams become reality.

Lynn has always been a driving force to keep the clogs turning whether it be the flyers you see, the art programs, late nights with her head stuck in paperwork and so much more but most importantly Lynn has been and continues to be instrumental in supporting this business to be where it is today.

Both these ladies have a heart the size of Texas, something I believe every single person who has experienced a day, week or even a second with us would have felt. This business is built from good old school values with an environment that has a faint familiarity of siting around a kitchen table with your loved one’s. We are a family and every single one of the workers or participants we’ve seen through the doors in our time has played a part in getting us here-

TRI STATE DAY SIX 🏃🏽‍♂️🩵

Our final day of Tri State took us to Cape Bridgewater for a day packed with team sports! We kicked things off with some beach frisbee, castle building, bocce, and soccer. The weather was a bit brisk, but we powered through and then made our way to the breathtaking Cape Bridgewater blowholes—what an incredible sight!
Afterward, it was a relaxing afternoon as the ladies treated themselves to some pampering before gala night. Everyone was looking sharp and ready for another night of dancing and amazing company.
As we wrap up another unforgettable year, it’s bittersweet. Excited to head home, but sad to say goodbye to another incredible Tri State experience. Until next year!

TRI STATE DAY FIVE 🏃🏽‍♂️🩵

What a day! The crew headed to Alexandra Park for a full day of action-packed events: running, walking, relays, and field events. Everyone gave it their all and did an amazing job! After the medal presentations, it was time to head back, freshen up, and get ready for the night’s entertainment – an Under the Sea themed party. The costumes were incredible! 🎉

We wrapped up the night with delicious dinner, dancing, and of course, more medals. A late night, but as always, totally worth it! 🏅💃🏽
