September sunsets are magical 🧡

This rugged outcrop of granite at the south-east corner of the Eldorado township is home to a monument honouring farrier Edwin Baldwin who died while serving in the Boer War.

The original memorial plaque is on the northern face of the monument with a new brass plaque, supplied by the RSL in 2004, on the western face. The missing upper section of the monument is thought to have been brought down by lightning

Walk from the museum in the centre of town to a laneway heading to the base of Monument Hill. A short but steep walk to the lookout offers a spectacular vantage point over the town and surrounding Chiltern Mt-Pilot National Park.

We have an excellent gold panning kit at the house for guests to use

The best place we have discovered to find gold and gemstones is sifting through the creek bed overflow when waters are beginning to subside and how lucky are we this is 40 metres from our front door!

When you come to visit Eldorado, make sure you check out Howards pottery studio in town
Gorgeous little rustic studio with the most delightful pottery pieces that we also have in our house for guests to use

I have always admired such creative talent in people and even more so these days when most things seem to be made in mass in factories in China

On moody]autumn Friday afternoons, nothing beats a leisurely wander in nature. The crisp air invigorates your senses, leaving you feeling alive and refreshed. The occasional rustle of a scurrying animal breaks the otherwise serene calm. As you stroll along, you take in the muted browns and grays that make up the landscape, punctuated by the occasional touch of green here and there. It's peaceful and tranquil, a soothing tonic for the overloaded mind.

We're now carbon neutral! Thank you to our friends at for helping us achieve this

We used the Carbon Neutral calculator to establish the extent of our emissions and have offset our excess emissions by purchasing carbon offsets. With our purchase we have supported a Biodiverse reforestation project in Australia that is in a recognised Global Biodiverse Hotspot.
We're encouraging the reintroduction of endangered species and combatting desertification. (I could go on!)
I am so passionate about this and look forward to continued partnership well into the future 💚

As winter settles in, there is something truly enchanting about the calmness and serenity it brings.
The crisp air, icy breeze and the soft sound of Reedy Creek flowing past all work together to create a sense of tranquility that is impossible to resist.
The perfect way to embrace this incredible atmosphere is to sit on the decking and watch the day fade away.
The peace this brings is something that must be experienced to be truly understood.
To continue this relaxing experience, you can light the fire inside and run a bath on the decking. The ultimate dream is to be surrounded by the magic of the winter night in the scenic Woolshed valley. The twinkling stars, the silence and the best feeling of calm you could ever imagine ❤️

Have you found the mysterious rock stack on our property?

Rumour has it that' its part of our fascinating bushranger history , specifically Joe Byrnes family home.

Some also wonder if t's of indigenous cultural sensitivity and others simply suggest children must have made it many moons ago

Regardless of this,its a great little walk to see it
Perched in a clearing , where you can observe the mountains and granite rocks and be at one with the natural beauty around you.

I find it exhilarating to think of all the history and the people that have clambered across our land 🧡
