๐Ÿ“ข Important Update for Student Visa Applicants! ๐ŸŽ“

Starting from 10 May 2024, the financial requirements for those applying for Student and Student Guardian visas in Australia will see an increase. The Department of Home Affairs is updating these requirements to ensure they reflect 75% of the national minimum wage, better mirroring the actual cost of living for students during their studies.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Why this change? This adjustment helps ensure that international students have sufficient funds to live comfortably without financial distress, avoid overworking, and reduce the risk of exploitation.

Hereโ€™s a quick breakdown of the new financial requirements effective from 10 May 2024:
Primary applicant: From AUD 24,505 to AUD 29,710
Spouse or partner of the primary applicant: From AUD 8,574 to AUD 10,394
Dependent child: From AUD 3,670 to AUD 4,449
Annual school costs: From AUD 9,661 to AUD 13,502
Individual annual income (without family): From AUD 72,465 to AUD 87,856
Individual annual income (with family): From AUD 84,543 to AUD 102,500

๐Ÿ›‘ Note: Applications lodged before 10 May 2024 will be assessed based on the old financial requirements.
Make sure youโ€™re prepared and plan accordingly for these changes! ๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ“š

Important Update: Changes to NSW 491 Visa Policy

The NSW Government has announced a significant change to the nomination criteria for the Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491) under Pathway 1, effective immediately. Previously, applicants were required to have lived and worked in a designated regional area of NSW for at least 12 months with a single regional employer. Now, this requirement has been reduced to 6 months based on industry feedback. This adjustment aims to make the pathway more accessible to skilled workers in regional NSW, supporting regional development and the local economy. Key changes include the reduced employment duration and remaining criteria such as employment with a single regional employer, occupation relevance, and meeting the TSMIT salary level. This change is part of the NSW Government's commitment to supporting regional NSW by attracting skilled workers and fostering economic growth and diversity.
