Volunteer Positions availible @ Ettalong Diggers Visitor Information Centre
Role - Visitor Information Centre Volunteer/Ambassador
Roster - 4 hours per week or fortnight
Duties and key responsibilities include:
*Providing customer service and knowledgeable, unbiased information on the Central Coast and surrounding regions to visitors and the local community by face to face and phone enquiries.
*Encourage visitors to explore the region and become advocates of the Central Coast.
Skills and personal qualities would include:
• Good general knowledge of Peninsula and Central Coast region
• Customer service skills
• Basic computer skills
• Reliable
* Ability to work as part of a team

• Social interaction and community engagement

Box Head Track - Bouddi National Park
This easy walk winds through bushland to the Box Head lookout, offering scenic views across the Hawkesbury River and cross Broken Bay and Lion Island to Sydney.
Where - Bouddi National Park
Distance - 3.1km return
Time suggested - 45min - 1hr 15min
Grade 3 - Price
Free
Amble along the park’s most southern ridge, taking in breathtaking water views over the Tasman Sea and Hawkesbury River as you go.
Beginning at the end of Hawke Head Drive, Box Head track alternates between rugged bushland and open windswept heath.
Keep your eye out for hidden treasures as you walk – an assortment of birdlife flits amongst the red gums and the rocky outcrops host a variety of moss and dwarfed trees.
You’ll find clifftop patches offering panoramas, particularly at the end of the track from Box Head lookout, where you’ll enjoy fantastic views over Tallow Beach, Little Tallow Beach, Broken Bay, Lion Island and Sydney's northern beaches. The track is joined by Flannel Flower walking track<https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/.../flannel-flower...> and Tallow Beach trail, which descends to Tallow Beach campground<https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/.../tallow-beach...>.

The Patonga to Pearl Beach walking track follows the Great North Walk through the beautiful red gums of Brisbane Water National Park. Bring your swimmers and a towel – this walk begins and ends on a beach, with plenty of opportunity for a refreshing dip or a spot of fishing.
From the end of Patonga Beach, follow signs to the national park. You can head to Warrah Trig from here, while following the steep trail up and over the hill will take you past the spectacular Warrah lookout with views of Hawkesbury River and Pacific Ocean. Pause for a snack, then return to the fire trail, following the Pearl Beach signs past sandstone caves with a natural hanging garden of native ferns. Be sure to keep an eye out for bush turkeys and an ear open for kookaburras.
Your exit is marked at Crystal Avenue. Follow the sounds of crashing waves to find a beautiful stretch of sand on the edge of the bush. Our Justice of the peace Jayne is trained to act as independent and objective witness to documents used for official or legal purposes and can assist you by attesting the execution of a document. witnessing a statutory declaration. witnessing an affidavit for use in court.
Basic services provided. No bookings required.

Stars festival Ettalong Beach, celebrating women of the Silver screen from the 8th to 11 February 2024
The Iris Foundation, Because We Care Boutique Central Coast was this year’s Melbourne Cup Day Charity of Choice.
The Boutique received a ClubGRANT earlier this year, but we wanted to do more, so
asked ‘What does the Boutique need ?”
Their response was Handbags, clutches, and costume jewellery, as accessories for clothes that had already been donated.
A call went out through Ettalong Diggers & Ettalong Diggers Visitor Information Centre social media, and advertising internally, and what an overwhelming response we had.
Thank you so much to all the lovely members of our local community who donated.
We also contacted local businesses who generously donated over $3000 in prizes for our Fundraising raffle. Heartfelt thanks to you as well ! The raffle raised $955 for the Boutique.
Volunteers from the Boutique were models in the Fashion Parade by Pink Ginger Clothing Umina Beach.
We look forward to working with the Iris Foundation for many years to come, to help disadvantaged women in our local community.

So, the Boutique experience can also include attending small group workshops that support them in feeling included, confident, prepared, and supported. There are a range of workshops on offer each month that are focused on personal and professional development. Additionally, individual or group mentoring and coaching is available by appointment with certified resilience coaches, if support is requested long term.
It is the only service of its kind on the Central Coast and has been in operation for four years.
Run by dedicated volunteer stylists, the Boutique offers ideas, support, appropriate and smart attire prior to attending any important meeting or appointment.
