How exciting for visitors able to travel to our island with their fur babies allowed to stay in cabin with them.

We are ready for you! 🫶🏽

Animals will no longer be forced to stay separate to their owners, with the Spirit of Tasmania set to change their policies when the new ships launch in 2025.

The two new ships will each have 18 cabins dedicated to accommodating furry friends and their owners, with a designated outdoor area available for dogs to stretch their legs and enjoy some fresh sea air on a lead.

In addition to the cabins, the ferries will also have a secure climate-controlled pet housing area with kennels for dogs of all breeds and sizes.

People often ask about the involuntary movements and sensations that can occur in their bodies during meditation – how and why it happens.

Sometimes, when we’re in coherent theta brain wave states during deep meditation, we’re open to information carried on frequency from the field – a “download” of new energy.

Other times, we might be liberating stored emotions – as energy – and releasing that energy out of the body or directly to the brain.

It takes an energy greater than the energy that’s been holding the body in the same patterns to liberate us from past experiences and traumas. It’s not surprising that, sometimes, you’re going to feel it when it happens. The body wants to be joyful and free, and this release of old information can be powerful.

Take care of our shorebirds. 🫶🏽

With shorebird breeding season well underway, beach goers are asked to do all they can to look after our shorebirds by following some simple practices to protect their habitat.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3:

🚶‍♂️Only walk on the wet sand
🚷 Observe the signage in dog walking areas and keep dogs away from dry sand
🚗 Avoid taking vehicles onto beaches to minimise nest disturbance.

The Spray Tunnel - The tunnel is burrowed into the bottom of a hill, and unusually shaped like a keyhole, approximately 3m high, 2.2m wide and 100m long. It was carved so that ore could be moved from a mine.

To wander through the tunnel is a lot of fun. The darkness inside makes it hard to see anything in front, if not for the glow-worms shining from the ceiling.

At the far end, you'll find relics of buildings and abandoned boilers – a flashback to the west's long mining history.

Spray Tunnel, just outside of Zeehan, is an easy 1hr (6km) return walk. To find the start of the walk, head north towards the end of town and turn left onto Fowler Street, following it to its end - past the golf course - for a curious trip down a miner’s rabbit hole.

Found in the walls, used as insulation, during our renovation. This newspaper was printed on the 4th December 1940, 82 years ago almost to the day.

Looking at these advertisements, I’m so pleased our world has come so far. But, has it come far enough?
