👏 Thank you to all who joined us at the NSW Rural Women's Gathering 2024 in Harden Murrumburrah last Saturday. We were delighted with the strong turnout of attendees and we hope you enjoyed the Rural Women's Gathering as much as we did.

Thank you again to the Harden Committee for delivering such an engaging and enjoyable event. Jana Pittman sharing her extraordinary life journey was definitely a highlight of the day, and the workshops were very engaging and lots of fun. We'd like to thank all of the workshop facilitators for their contributions to making the Gathering such an incredible success.

In order to deliver future Rural Women's Gatherings, it's important that we have feedback to understand what went well and what could be improved upon. So, please take the time to fill in our survey so we can ensure future Gatherings are successful and meaningful to women living in regional, rural and remote NSW.

Please note that if you did complete a paper survey at the event, you don't need to complete this version online, and we thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We appreciate your feedback as it is important to help shape future events.

The survey will close on 6pm on the 4 November. Should you have any questions about this survey or the Rural Women’s Gathering please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

🌷 Kimberley Furness from OAK Magazine delivered a workshop and shared her tips and practical insights around having the confidence to become entrepreneurs who can thrive in the community.

🌷 Ruby Riethmuller from Womn-Kind ran an informative workshop on the topic of mental health and wellbeing in the modern age. Ruby shared ways to optimise wellbeing and how to harness the power to believe in yourself to create change.

🎨 Visual artist and scribe, Chloe Wegener spent the day scribing down all of the stories and key takeaways from the day to create a stunning piece of art that will now serve as a historic representation of the warmth and connections created over the weekend.

It has been an absolute pleasure connecting with all of the women and girls who attended from across NSW at this years Gathering. The new connections and friendships made will be invaluable, reminding us of the power that collaboration has.

This year Chloe Wegener (Artist and Visual Scribe) will be joining us at the Gathering to begin a new tradition. The process of 'Scribing' is a social art form where an artist acting as an artistic aid will map out ideas while people talk. This process encourages group learning and cultural memory, offering a relational way of seeing.

Chloe is a proud Garrawa woman, artist and visual scribe for the Wiyi Yani U Thangani Institute, and the artwork that she creates will be gifted to the committee as recognition of their effort and dedication into organising the Gathering. This will then become a new Rural Women's Gathering tradition, as this artwork will travel to the next Gathering to be a feature and will showcase the connection between each Gathering as the years progress.

We can't wait to see you this weekend in Harden Murrumburrah!

👏 For the Gathering, our next speaker is an absolute trailblazer! Meet Ruby Riethmuller, Founder of Womn-Kind and AgriFutures Australia Rural Women’s Award 2024 NSW/ACT Finalist.

Ruby grew up on a farm in the Riverina and understands how difficult accessing services and opportunities can be for women in the country. Ruby is committed to optimising the wellbeing of young people and wants to focus on ensuring that young people who live in regional, rural and remote regions have the same opportunities to access quality, timely and engaging mental health support.

🧠 Ruby is excited to be presenting her workshop 'Mental health and wellbeing in the modern age' at the Gathering to supply women with the practical tools and resources to succeed in all aspects of life and notes that "guests can expect to leave feeling a renewed sense of empowerment, hope and courage, which are all instrumental in the outcomes of regional communities because when women rise, we all rise".

✏️ At this year's Gathering, we're beginning a new tradition of having a visual scribe. Scribing, otherwise known as graphic recording, graphic facilitation or sketch noting is a social art form where an artist acting as an artistic aid will map out ideas while people talk. This process encourages group learning and cultural memory, offering a relational way of seeing.

Chloe Wegener- Artist is a proud Garrawa woman, artist and visual scribe for the Wiyi Yani U Thangani Institute. She will be joining us at the Rural Women's Gathering 2024 to create a beautiful representation of the conversations from the Gathering.

The benefits of visual scribing include:
✅ Greater understanding of complex information
✅ Increased levels of retention and memory of content
✅ Visual representation of ideas to promote reflection
✅ Increased participation appealing to diverse styles

The artwork created by Chloe will be gifted to the committee as recognition of their effort and dedication into organising the Gathering. This will then become a new Rural Women's Gathering tradition, as this piece of history will travel to the next Gathering to be a feature and showcase the connection between each Gathering as the years progress.

We can't wait to see you at this year's Gathering in October. Tickets are limited so register to attend now https://bit.ly/RuralWomensGathering2024
