David Olle (Topbike Founder & CEO) has a long connection with FNQ, since he spent most of the 80’s working out of Cairns in the Northern Prawn Fishery, covering the east coast, Torres Straits and the Gulf of Carpentaria. In the early 2000’s he raced the Crocodile Trophy, twice (once against a very young Adam Hansen), traversing many of the roads we use in our upcoming tours. Topbike has developed
a strong bond with Atherton (our base for 2021), as many of the locals have come on tour to Europe, over the past 15 years. We’ve visited FNQ most every year since the 'Athertonians' first euro foray. Topbike has also sponsored a junior development program with the Atherton cycling club.
