PHEW! What an AMAZING whale watching season. We can't thank everyone enough for everything they did to make this season one of the best yet. 🙌👏 One tour we had a synchronised double breach!! 😲🐋🐋

Just because the season is over does not mean we don't have plenty of content still to post up. Keep your eyes peeled 👀 Thanks to our captains and crew for all the hard work they did on every tour and for capturing great footage for us. Special thanks to our wonderful commentary guide team from AQWA The Aquarium of Western Australia , they taught our passengers (myself included) so much about whales! They really take our tours to that next level. ☝

Not only are our onboard commentary guides both experts in marine life, they’re also both extremely skilled at marine photography 🤩📸🐋 You saw Brooke’s skills yesterday, now check out these awesome shots by Sarah on Tuesday’s tour out of Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour. If you look closely you’ll notice scratches and even chunks out of dorsal fins, Sarah told us it’s highly likely these types of wounds are from Killer Whale attacks, one of the few predators of Humpback Whales!

Pec slaps galore! Crew member Will shot this great footage of a mother and her calf passing by on Sunday’s tour. Our resident expert Brooke from AQWA - the Aquarium of Western Australia informs us that pec slapping, like breaching, is a method of communication. However, in this case, this is definitely the mother teaching her young calf how to pec slap and our lucky customers got to witness the lesson ☺️🐋💙🐋

Ever wondered why whales leap out of the ocean? Unfortunately, we’re unable to ask the source of these majestic moves, however, our expert guides from AQWA The Aquarium of Western Australia are the next best thing. This activity is known as a ‘breach’. On Sunday’s tour Brooke, who runs the instagram snapped these synchronised double breaches.

She explains: ‘Breaches and activity usually pick up with the wind and swell…The two adult/sub-adult whales we had were communicating with surrounding pods so we actually had 2 pods either side of us further away breaching too. Very lucky with the synchronise breach, only ever seen that between a teaching mum and calf before.’ 🐋🐋

And we’re very lucky to have such knowledgeable experts! 💙🐋👏
