🌊 Stay Safe & Be Seen: The Importance of Using a Deployable Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) While Scuba Diving 🌊
From the 1st of October you will need to have a personal SMB when diving from Blue Destiny. If you don’t have one on your dive day with us you can hire them on the boat. Chat to one of our crew and they will provide you with one, there is also an option available when you book online. As an introductory offer for October we will provide a SMB at no charge. There will be a hire charge if you don’t have one from November.
When it comes to diving off Blue Destiny, safety is always a top priority — and one of the best ways to stay safe underwater is by using a Deployable Surface Marker Buoy (SMB)! Whether you’re diving in Perth’s local water or exploring new sites, an SMB is a must-have piece of equipment to keep you visible to boats, your dive boat, and other divers. 🚤 🛟
Here’s why an SMB is essential:
Visibility: A brightly coloured SMB helps boats and your dive team spot you when you surface,even in busy or low-visibility areas.
Currents: If you're caught in a current, deploying an SMB signals your position andallows for a quicker recovery.
Group Communication: It helps others in your group know where you are, even from a distance.

We purchased Blue Destiny in September 2016 and set about renovating our 21m catamaran with a new galley, upstairs serving area, sound system, party lighting, carpeting and so much more to provide maximum comfort to our guests. We provide party charters and scuba diving and snorkelling trips to Rottnest Island, Carnac Island and the Swan River. We can fish for WA rock lobster (crayfish) 365 days a year with our fishing licence. We provide excellent service in a well maintained and safety focused environment.
