Hectic day 💨

Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, presented Firefighter Tom and 2nd Officer Jonno with the National Medal at Iron Creek Bay Estate on Sunday. Tom and Jonno were accompanied by Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) representatives and other Southern Region awardees.

Tom joined the TFS as Cadet in 2001, serving at Claremont Brigade before transferring to Midway Point-Sorell Fire Brigade in 2012. Tom has dedicated time to supporting activities such as Junior Development, fundraising, and competing in 'State Urban' competitions, ‘Light Tanker' competitions and intra-state incidents such as Broadmarsh (2003), Scamander (2006) and Dunalley (2013)

Jonno joined TFS in 2008 and served at Sandford Brigade before transferring to Midway Point-Sorell Fire Brigade. Jonno has held positions of Treasurer, Firefighter, Leading Firefighter, 4th & 3rd Officer. He has dedicated time to brigade business, meetings, conferences, development days & intra/inter-state incidents like Dunalley (2013) & Queensland (2019).

We look forward to many more years of Tom and Jonno’s dedication and service.

🎅 IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM SANTA’S LOLLY RUN HELPERS 🎅

We’ve made a list, we’ve checked it twice, and we’re pleased to share the locations of where Santa will be stopping to hand out lollies!

Our annual Christmas Eve Lolly Run kicks off Sunday 24 December from 3pm, visiting the following designated stops in our community. Please note, all times are approximate, and we’ll do our best to stick to this schedule - but listen out for the sirens! 🍬🍭
