The whales have started to relax and travel slower, which often means close encounters like this mugging we had today from 3 curious adult humpbacks.

🐬 One of our favourite “additional extras” to whale season are the jokers of the sea, the Common Dolphin (Delphinus delphis).
These dolphins can be seen any month if the year, but sightings are much more regular from June - October. They often found socialising and feeding in very large pods, and are the most acrobatic of the dolphins we encounter off the Gold Coast. They absolutely love to ride our pressure waves as we cruise along in search for whales 🐋

😍 We were very lucky to spend our whole tour today with this pod of 2 humpback whales as they cruised along the humpback highway, on their annual northern migration.
This pair were great value, only spending 2 minutes underwater at a time, with great surface time to give our watchers heaps of viewing time 👀
We are so privelaged to be able to witness this every year 🤗
