🌍 After exploring King Island’s rich history and indulging in its flavours, we headed to the local gem, 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯, for an unforgettable round of golf. 🏌️‍♂️ This 9-hole course, ranked as the Southern Hemisphere’s top 9-hole course, offered breathtaking views 🌊 and a unique challenge.

🤝 To make the experience even more special, we were joined by local members, adding a friendly and fun dynamic to the day.

🏠 Post-round, we gathered at the welcoming 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆, where stunning views of the course and the roaring southern ocean 🌊 set the perfect backdrop.

🏆 The evening was a true celebration of camaraderie and achievement, with awards presented to the overall and daily winners.

🌅 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱’𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝘀

Yesterday was a day to remember as we delved into the history, beauty, and flavours of King Island.

Our day began at the majestic Cape Wickham Lighthouse, Australia’s tallest, where we learned about the maritime tragedies that shaped the island’s history. Next, we visited the ironically named Disappointment Bay, where breathtaking views softened the somber story of the Neva shipwreck.

The journey continued to the Martha Lavinia Reserve, a Ramsar site and home to the iconic Martha Lavinia Beach—an international surfing and fishing hotspot.

En route to Currie, we passed King Island’s thriving beef industry before treating ourselves to a tasting at the King Island Dairy, savouring some of the island’s finest cheeses. We ended our exploration at Heidi’s King Island Distillery, stocking up on some ‘birdie’ juice to fuel our afternoon round of golf.

King Island’s natural wonders, rich history, and local delicacies made for an unforgettable day.

Congratulations to Anita Scullion [18.9], who led the field with an impressive 38 points.
Maria Collyer [15.2] followed in second place with 31 points, and Mary Connell [41.2] secured third with 30 points.
