When is the BEST time to book your holiday?
One of the most frequently asked questions I get from clients.
It mostly depends, however I always recommend my clients to plan their trips in advance, usually 10 months out.
Why? A few reasons:
1. More Availability. The more the better, because as flights get more busy, the price goes up. This is especially the case for peak season dates (School holidays, Christmas or long weekends).
Same with hotels, because specific room types do sell out, so if your picky, dont leave it to the last minute.
2. Early Bird Prices
Most airlines release early bird prices far in advance, and this is where you are going to get the best price.
From time to time the airline may release other specials throughout the year, but they honestly are not that much different to the early bird pricing.
3. You can plan your holiday better
Let me tell you, being rushed while planning your holiday does not save you money. It allows for rushed decisions and FOMO (fear of missing out). Just dont do it :P
4. Hold Now, Pay Later
Most my packages come with a hold deposit, then paying the balance 30-60 days before departure date.
This means we get to hold prices in, but still make changes in due course if we need to. This also works with most cruise lines, book now and if the price drops, re-book the new price!
Of course there will be some last minute deals that pop up, and if your lifestyle allows you to do that, great! But for most, planning in advance allows for a much smoother booking process and holiday experience.
What are you?
A last minute holiday booker? or do you like to book your holidays in advance?
