We just moved to Fremantle 😅
Still can’t believe it.

Freo is one of the most desirable districts. Especially for young people like us.
Fremantle is vibrant, full of cool restaurants and cafés, yoga studios and healthy food.
It’s also very popular among tourists.
We will be showing you Fremantle and it’s gems.

So funny. My company asked everyone if we want to do Cert IV in Tourism as the government is subsiding $5k .
I’m not eligible because I already hold way higher degree but it made my laugh inside 😅

Because I am doing my Certificate IV in TAE so in few months I will be able to deliver this Certificate IV in Tourism 😂 so I could be training them 😂

You probably can’t see it but I have a broken thong (flip flop 🤣)
I travelled half of New Zealand in a $10 broken thongs 😂
Why?
Simply didn’t have time to go to Kmart for a new one and apart from being a little uncomfortable they were still good 😊

But that’s nothing 🤣 Edgar traveled whole country and additional 2 weeks in Australia (total of 7 weeks) in broken glasses.
Nanook was playing with them. The glass in one lens broke in half but still stayed in a frame. We tried to fix it but…

Surprise surprise
No glass or glassmaker in New Zealand so to get new glasses we got a wait time of 2 -3 weeks 😥
And as we were constantly moving there were no options to get in done.

Interesting fact: few years ago Edgar was buying new glasses in Kuala Lumpur. They were ready in one day.
Kuala Lumpur is only slightly bigger than Auckland so my question is why New Zealand is so behind?

Distance ain’t good enough.
Ain’t argument.

Aotearoa, country of a long white cloud and for my country with no sky 😅
Especially north island is constantly cloudy. Even on the sunny day sky is not completely clear. Or at least we didn’t have luck to see it in 4 months living there.
And it rains a lot.

But I miss rain a little bit 🥹 Perth is just so so dry now.

lack of water in the rivers 😞
Wast riverbeds still look impressive but I can imagine it’s way better in spring when snow is melting and rivers are roaring 🌊

📍Aoraki/Mount Cook

“The name of Aoraki (Mt Cook) originates from an old Maori legend about Aoraki and his three brothers, who were the suns of Rakinui (the Sky Father). According to legend, the brothers were on a trip around Papatauanuku (the Earth Mother), when their canoe hit a reef, and they became stranded.

The brothers climbed on to the top of the overturned canoe, and waited for the arrival of their rescuers. Whilst they waited the freezing southerly wind turned their bodies to stone, and their hair white.

Legend states that the canoe became the South Island of New Zealand. The tallest mountain was named after the tallest brother, who was “Aoraki”. The rest of the brothers and the crew of the canoe became the other mountains of the Southern Alps.”

Unarguably one of the most beautiful part of the country.
Lots of people are debating whether to visit north or South Island of New Zealand.
And most would recommend South over North. But the truth is that they are very different and it depends on what you like.
But if you don’t have much time I would also recommend South Island. The landscape is just more grand with some wilderness 🌳 almost untouched.

Visiting was one of my dreams since high school. I made it happen in 2017. I came here just a few days after being discharged from the hospital on Melbourne. But if I think of something there is no way of stopping me. I wanted to spend my birthday in the and I did it.
Little did I know that I will be back in a few years, that I’ll be living next door almost 😅
This time was even better. Why? Because since December 23 opened two holes. Real, in scale hobbit holes with everything home needs.
