Final days visiting Santa Cruz island to visit the largest Tortoises of the trip. Beautiful drive from the gorgeous town of Puerto Ayora has you passing wild tortoises casually hanging out by the roadside and car parks on our way to a private property that protects these incredible giants.

Loved the educational side of cruise. Alejandro, one of two Galapagonian guides onboard did a brilliant lecture condensing down a semesters worth of his university lecture content on tectonic plates, volcano hotspots and the formation of the islands into a 1 hr presentation. Absolutely brilliant!

A couple of busy days on Isabel Island cruising through the mangroves on the zodiac to see “tree” sea lions and the unique mangrove loving penguins of Galapagos. Also got the swim with flightless cormorants 🦅 and visit the Tortoise 🐢 Breeding Centre.

Morning exploring the youngest island of the Galapagos, Fernandina and then swim and hike on Isabel island.

*One thing to note with expeditions is that it is very active. Onboard Grace Yacht Quasar we are doing 3-4 activities per day. Why so many? There is a lot to fit into a 7 day itinerary and for some this will be A trip of a lifetime. Others fall in love with the islands a return many times and others spread the cruise out to 14 days to pace themselves a little more *
