Spectacular! 📷 Wow, Mother Nature, we see you flexing! 💪😮 Minyon Falls is the largest waterfall in the Northern Rivers, plunging 100m below. 💦 Found in Nightcap National Park in Byron Bay area, you can admire this thunderous view from the lookout above or wander through the rainforest on a walking track, which takes you to the base of the falls.

The Byron hinterland is lucky to be home to one of the prettiest bees in the world -- the blue-banded bee.

This one visits the flowers round Valleydale Cottage (especially the purple ones). They are a large native bumble bee, with the adults growing to 10 or 12 mm (almost half-an-inch in the old measure). They are solitary bees, nesting alone in small burrows. This one is a female, I think. Males have five bands and females four.

We have groups of the beautiful Blue Tiger Butterflies on the farm the past few weeks. Apparently migrating down from Queensland for a few short months. They have a long life-span for a butterfly, of up to six months.

Fun Fact on the Farm:
How to you tell male from female pekin ducks? It is hard to tell apart when ducklings. The loud quack is female (Quackers is on the left) and the other 3 ducks a quieter quack (males). Also the males have a curled drake feather.
