INJINOO was the first established settlement in the NPA region - of four semi-nomadic tribes, who came together in peace to settle at the mouth of Cowal Creek (meaning Small River).

These clans were the Angamuthi, Atambaya and Gudang Yadhaykenu clans. Their descendants, the people of Injinoo, are the traditional owners of the land. The people of Injinoo still practise traditional land and sea hunting rights and cultural ceremonies, including traditional dance, song and cooking.

Injinoo Lookout is the site of the original settlement close to the waterfront looking out toward the Arafura Sea on the western side of the top of Cape York.

To maintain proper management of the land and resources, elected community members form the Apudthama Land Trust Board. They work closely with the NPA Land and Sea Rangers, based in Injinoo, to manage traditionally owned land, including Aboriginal.

Our October Tour is the Last for 2024 !!! 07-22 october 2024

So we decided to do something Special. Come join our family and do a 16 Day Tour!
Venture a bit further by having travellers in their own vehicles only.
We will travel some of the OTT. and travel Frenchman's Track.
We won't miss any of the usual iconic places we visit, like Lions Den Hotel, Weipa Eco Tours, Bramwell Tourist Park, Chillagoe Caves and of course Pajinka (The Tip of Cape York).
