Our Owner, Sam has made contact and had a teleconference with Local State MP David Mehan MP because the state government are all over the media sprouting how NSW is "opening back up" and "lockdown is over". Our business is still facing restrictions on trade, yet the financial support has been cut back to 1/3 of what it was (which barely paid rent and insurance during the 12 weeks of lockdown).
The restrictions listed in this letter mean:
* A "Party Bus" with a usual capacity of 50 passengers has about 20 square metres of "public accessible space", which at the current rate equates to 5 passengers - one 10th of its usual capacity.
* A "Charter Bus" with a usual capacity of 50 passengers has the same 20 square metres of "public accessible space" but is allowed to have 50 passengers.
Here's two pictures showing a "Party Bus" and a "Shuttle / Charter Bus". WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?!?!? Here's a spoiler - they're the same bus with a different logo. Perhaps Adam Crouch MP – Member for Terrigal can ask the Minister's office to provide some detailled guidance on how one bus is a covid risk and the other isn't???? And while you're at it, why is is appropriate for financial support to be withdrawn while our business is not able to operate - through no fault of our own???
The legislation defines a "Party Bus" as; "...means a vehicle being used on a commercial basis for the purposes of a party, whether
or not the party takes place during transportation between locations." It doesn't define "Party".

In the absence of clear direction from the NSW Government we have decided that we will not be operating "Party Buses" at present. By now everybody has probably rolled their eyes at least once (just today) at the inconsistency of the Corona Restrictions....so here's another reason to roll your eyes - WE CAN STILL OPERATE "CHARTER BUSES" WITHOUT ISSUES.
We are now calling ourselves "Bus Central Coast". We operate "Charter" Buses for all occasions. Our Web Site will be updated soon to reflect these changes.
For all those who have sent us messages and enquiries in the last few weeks - please be patient. Now that we have a plan for action, our team will be responding in the next few days.

LOCKDOWN HAS ENDED.....for many.
Despite our best efforts to get all our staff vaccinated, have Covid Safe Plans, additional sanitisation of vehicles, etc, etc, the NSW Government has seen fit to continue their restrictions on our (and many other) businesses to such an extent that it makes it impossible for us to operate at this time - even for those who are fully vaccinated.
The Government, and Health Minister Hazard, saw fit to specifically target Party Bus businesses with their restrictions, but haven't done us the courtesy of giving us information specific to our business for the easing of restrictions - even after the "Post 1st December Free-For-All" point in time. (They're also removing the financial support that allowed us to wait this out.)
Once we get some clarity from Government on the situation we will be hopefully able to answer your enquiries and get back on the road.

These graphics are fabulous. However, seeing as the State Government saw fit to specifically list “Party Buses” in their Public Health Orders, would it not be reasonable to have a line dedicated to our business type as well?
At present, the staff at Service NSW are unable to clarify if, when, how, and with what restrictions Party Buses will be able to return to business….. they were also unable to advise if support would be maintained whilever restrictions made it impossible for our business to operate.
We will be writing formally to our local State & Federal Parliament Members for the Central Coast electorates seeking clarification. Until a response is received, unfortunately we are not able to answer all the enquires that have come to our inbox in the last week.

FRUSTRATED RANT WARNING:
Here's something for all those small business owners out there with time on their hands......I present to you the 11am Bingo Drinking Game. We still have a couple of vacant spots on the bingo card if anyone has any suggestions to add before tomorrow. Please share it far & wide.
These politicians have no idea. Many small businesses have been regulated out of existence. Imagine if they were forced to cut their staffers back to say 25% of their usual numbers, then imagine that they have to do all the extra work themselves to try and keep themselves in a job, and then imagine that they have to do it only being paid 25% of what they were earning........do Gladys & Kerry still think they "know what we're going through"???? I doubt it.

SURELY WE'RE NOT THE ONLY LOCAL COASTIES THAT THINK SYDNEY PEOPLE ARE LIKE LABRADOR PUPPIES. SO WHILE THE POLITICIANS PRETEND TO BE DOG TRAINERS, AND TRY TO GET THE SYDNEY PEOPLE TO “SIT”, “STAY” AND “WEAR A MUZZLE”, WE’VE BEEN, LIKE MANY COASTIES, FORCED TO TAKE A BREAK FROM OUR ACTIVITIES.
YOU MAY SEE SOME OF OUR BUSES OUT ON THE ROAD DURING THE LOCKDOWN AS WE KEEP OUR BUSES MOVING TO PREVENT DAMAGE FROM THEM SITTING IDLE.
WE ARE FINANCIALLY ABLE TO GO INTO HIBERNATION WHILE THIS LOCKDOWN CONTINUES, AND AS SOON AS THE LOCKDOWN LIFTS, AND OTHER RESTRICTIONS PERMIT, WE WILL BE BACK IN ACTION AND CONTACTING ALL OF OUR CLIENTS WHO HAVE HAD THEIR PLANS INTERUPTED.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO BEING BACK ON THE ROAD WHERE WE BELONG, PROVIDING SAFE & FUN TRANSPORT FOR OUR CLIENTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
