Due to the impending hot weather, Halls Gap Zoo will have a change of opening hours this weekend.
We will be open from 9am until 4pm instead of our usual hours of 10am until 5pm this Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Stay sun smart, bring a hat and sunscreen when visiting the zoo this weekend. We also have cold drinks for sale at our kiosk.

We will return to normal operating hours on Tuesday 12th.

We are open!

Good morning zoo supporters,

We have had quite a few calls in the last few days asking if we are open, due to some misinformation given by the media. Please note we are NOT evacuating our animals and are safe and open for business. There are currently no fires affecting the Halls Gap area and we were only closed for 2 days a few weeks ago due to road closures affecting access to the zoo.

Now more than ever, the businesses of Halls Gap need your support. After the local Halls Gap businesses had to close for a few days due to the fires a few weeks go, we are now calling on tourism to support us.
We have been fortunate in not needing to evacuate our animals (however, we are always prepared just in case). Please keep an eye on our social media for updates, we will let you know if anything changes in the future and we need to close.
But for now- please support regional Victoria and our beautiful Halls Gap!

Thanks to everyone who has contacted and checked in with us since the fires began yesterday ❤️ We are safe, and the fires in our area are under control.
Our thoughts are with the local communities of Pomonal, Halls Gap, and Dadswells Bridge that have all been impacted by the fires. Huge thanks to all firefighters who are courageous and committed to the safety of their local communities 🙏
