Start by taking in an incredible showcase of local talent at MUD Gallery or learn about the Ansett empire at Sir Reginald Ansett Transport Museum.

Feeling inspired? Book a private or small-group class at Petschel House studios and gallery, where the elegant gardens and surrounding farms will fuel your creativity. Don’t skip a visit to Hamilton Gallery to check out one of the ever-evolving world-class exhibitions.

For brunch, stop by Roxburgh Café for a delicious meal and a cup of coffee. And for dinner, indulge in a refined dining experience at Izzy’s Cafe Wilfred.

If you're looking for accommodation, AAt 28 Goldsmith Motel offers a friendly, country welcome that makes you feel instantly at home.

Lower Waterfalls of Gar is one of our region’s best kept secrets.

Named after the traditional name for Mt Difficult (Gar), this 4.2-kilometre walk starts at Troopers Creek Campground in Wartook and leads to a series of breathtaking waterfalls. Best seen after rain, these seasonal falls offer unforgettable views, along with stunning vistas of the rugged mountain ranges from rocky lookouts.

The Lower Waterfalls of Gar walk is classed as medium difficulty and involves some steep stretches, slippery rocks, creek crossings and exposed cliff edges, so be prepared to get a little adventurous.
