Emu Gully was founded in 1995 by Barry Rodgers OAM, an experienced educator with a passion for our national heritage and helping young people become all they can be. Emu Gully has established a reputation for delivering the highest quality leadership and team building programs. For many of our clients these have become crucial elements for enhancing c

ulture, developing teamwork and training leaders. Now employing over 30 staff, and catering for over 15,000 participants each year, we host school groups, sporting and social groups and corporates from across Australia at our campus located near Toowoomba in Southeast Queensland. At Emu Gully we believe in young people and understand the significance of history. We shape great Australians by challenging the status quo, enlarging capacity, uniting groups and providing opportunities for enhanced personal and team performance. By focusing on the core national values of Courage, Mateship, Sacrifice and Perseverance, our programs provide a hands on history lesson that will shape the future. Our core values of Character, Respect, Walk the Talk, Safety and a Can Do Attitude are central to every aspect of our organisation. Meet Luke.

Luke, a registered teacher, joined us as a facilitator at Emu Gully three months ago.

His working arrangements with us let him enjoy working in outdoor education part-time and working in the classroom two days a week as a relief teacher.

Luke has chosen to work in outdoor education and believes he has found a place that allows more time and effort to focus into building relationship with students and see them develop as good humans.

He's loving the change from a typical classroom environment and connecting with kids in an outdoor and fun environment.

Luke is finding that the balance of the two jobs really is the best of both worlds. He maintains his connections and skills in the classroom and continues to meet the requirement for his teacher registration.

A couple of weeks ago our CEO Guy Hawkins and Development and Program Manager Adam Grant met with two camp staff from India at a conference! These staff ran camps for school age students in India, particularly those with disabilities. We were able to support them by making a donation towards running a camp for students - like ours - in India. We can’t wait to hear more about the camps happening around the world! Camps are so important for young people and can have a lasting impact on their lives!

They keep our all our vehicles running, all the buildings and resources maintained and we couldn't operate without their efforts.
