As the proud owners/operator of Hervey Bay Eco Marine Tours, we would love to share this beautiful part of Australia with you. An integral part of our business is to highlight the incredible culture of our indigenous, traditional land and sea custodians the Butchulla people. Our Ecotour vessel is proudly named 'Milbi' whic

h carries the Butchulla meaning for Sea Turtle. Surveyed for 38 passengers she is one of the largest in Australia, the large custom built glass panels make for idyllic underwater viewing. We offer a vast range of tours to meet the needs of individuals and families alike, all the way through from early morning to sunsets or daily island escapes. Join us on our Turtle Discovery Tour, snorkel amongst coral gardens, search for Milbi's, dolphins, fish, reef sharks, and sting rays you may even be lucky enough to sight the odd dugong from the vessel. Relax and enjoy the view through the glass bottom or take the plunge and immerse yourself in the reef and clean clear waters. Swim, Snorkel, Relax. This week we hosted a school group from Rockhampton Grammar School and they certainly saw more than they expected when we stumbled across a green turtle laying motionless on banks of Round Island (Weenandin). While he had no physical signs of injury he was still in the same location when we returned later to check on him, so he was taken to Australia Zoo Hospital. The examination showed he had a belly full of gas and they are also treating him for hypoglycaemia. We're all hoping for a speedy recovery!

Our Mission

A family owned business on a mission to create lasting change.

After spending over 40 years at sea, surrounded by marine life, diving the reefs, whilst always being passionate indigenous culture, we noticed that there wasn’t an opportunity for the community and our visitors to learn and connect with the Great Sandy Straits as well as our local Butchulla culture. So we combined our skills & passions to create Hervey Bay Eco Marine Tours.

On the tours, our guests experience the local islands of the Great Sandy Straits, snorkel our unbelievably healthy reef, learn about sustainability as well as different ways we can individually help the oceans, whilst listening to ancient dreamtime stories from our local Butchulla guide - including an incredible cultural experience on the island.

To meet the needs of our guests - ranging from individuals, couples, elderly and families, we operate our famous Turtle Discovery Tours daily, Sunset tours on Wednesdays & Friday evenings, as well as private daily island escapes per request. We would love to have you join us on board, with the opportunity to snorkel amongst coral gardens, search for Milbi's, dolphins, fish, reef sharks and sting rays - you may even be lucky enough to sight the odd dugong. Our tours vary day to day with the conditions nature provides. All we hope is that you get the chance to disconnect from your day to day, relax and immerse yourself in the beauty of mother nature.
