Yesterday was National Dolphin Day 🐬🐬 and what better way to celebrate than spending it with not just the newest little member of our local Australian Humpback Dolphin pod but also a visit with our favourite Bottlenose Dolphins in the blue clear water beside K'gari (Fraser Island). Everyday is dolphin day out on the Blue Dolphin but moments like these are extra special.

We were very lucky to get both species of dolphins on yesterday morning's Dolphin Eco Adventure - a bit of a warning - the last 5 images are of one of the Bottlenose dolphins who has had a very close run in with a shark. Judging by the healing process we believe it occurred approx 3/4 weeks ago. Hopefully we can keep an eye on this individual over the coming weeks and months to see how the healing is progressing.

It was nice to catch up with some of the local Bottlenose dolphins on this morning's Dolphin Eco Adventure - they have been a little elusive of late, with the flood waters coming out of the Susan and Mary Rivers casting a brown hue over the bay, we were thinking they may have moved a little further afield to cleaner waters. Hopefully we will start to see them a little more frequently in coming days. 📸 / Cassie
